Agnes done lost her *got* damn mind!  But holy shit, removing her own bullet earns her at least a few badass points, even if she is a batshit crazy psychopathic murderer.   And then to top it off, we have Negan v2.0 taking her anger out on Matt with a crowbar, *and* Mama Polk taking Lee's left leg!   So, I guess this is the week of the head bash and the limb removal and the ugly cry?  #TWD  #NegansGotNothingOnShelbyAndMamaPolk  #NowTHISisWhatYouCallTorturePorn  #SnotBubblesAndTearMattedMascaraFTW

Ok, on the subject of Matt:  WHAT. IN. THE. ACTUAL. FUCK, MATT?????  Did you *really* think you could have a relationship with the Scathach if you came back for her??? And even if you could, what would that be?  She would kill you and make you a ghost and then you could have mossy, dirty woods sex for eternity???   1) Ewwwww.  2)You're crazy.  3)She'd just ditch you for the next blood moon's new man about the house.

Elephant in the room, did Dominic take Shelby down there on purpose with the hope that she would harm Matt and that would clear the way for him to be able to get with Shelby?  Is the blood actually on Dominic's hands?  And suspension of disbelief moment of the night, how the hell is Shelby swinging that crowbar so handily while she's supposed to be recovering from Agnes' slashing of her left shoulderblade area?  Did Matt give her some heavy duty Vicodin before he went downstairs, or was it something even stronger?  Magic potion?  Fireball shots?

Poor Audrey, I really thought she'd be caught by the colonists after seeing Rory and falling apart.  And omgggggg, this whole scene at the Polk compound is sooooo freaky and scary.  Watching them choke down a piece of Lee jerky is just so cringeworthy and it made my stomach turn!   *blecccchhh*  And next week looks even freakier!

Really wondering how this is going to wrap.  We've got Shelby and Dominic in the house, and Audrey/Monae/Lee at the Polk compound.  It's looking like Shelby probably has the best chance of being the only survivor, especially since she made it through Agnes' attack.  Unless they 'Glenn' her and she dies later on, and Dominic survives?  Either way, I don't see Audrey, Lee (especially Lee), or Monae making it out alive from the Polk place.   I guess I'll call it right now, Shelby is the lone survivor.  If I'm wrong, well, it wouldn't be the first time.

Seriously looking forward to next week!

  • Good episode, note to men, hell hath no furry like a jealous woman.

Just a tinfoil theory, what if the lone survivor is the camera/"audience" (think Natural Born Killers).

  • This episode turned it all around for me. It was definitely the best of the season, topping last week's in my opinion. I was actually spooked watching this. It's really fun to see the "real" ghosts show up. They truly are creepy. I'm going to guess Lee somehow survives this. She will come out maimed but alive to escape home to her daughter. No strong basis for this other than I'm hoping they stray away from the blonde girl as the only survivor trope. Plus we might automatically count her as dead after they took her leg opening up the chance for them to "surprise" us. Or Angela Bassett will survive just because she is a badass.

I think these last two episodes are great.  However, knowing what we know about the true nature of the woods witch, doesn't it seem even LESS likely that Shelby would stumble upon Matt in the woods and be like "HOW COULD YOU BETRAY ME WITH ANOTHER WOMAN?!?"  I mean, that shit was unnatural.  I mean, I get the concepts of beer goggles and making noise in the bedroom, but he looked like he was fucking a literal bear monster that was shrieking like a baritone banshee.

The found footage nature of the episode is also a bit creaky in the way these things always are, but this is shaping up to be one of the most gruesome, fightening seasons of all time.  Let's see if I can hang with the Eli Roth direction the Polks seem to be going down.  That's traditionally an "eject button" thing for me with the horror genre.

What an episode! When the end credits came up I found myself gasping for air and wanting more.
I was surprised Sidney got it so soon despite his high douchebag quotient. I thought he'd for sure be one of, if not the last victim, & that it would have been far more gruesome and impactful for some poetic justice.

I am pleasantly creeped the F out by the real ghosts!  Initially my husband and I had fun speculating which AHS alumni would come back and portray the real ghost characters (Jessica Lange as the REAL Butcher?!!), but this is way more effective at scaring the bejeezus out of me.

Great episode just for the sheer chaos of it! It's great to have everything moving at such a breath taking pace compared to the slow nature of the first half of the season.

Maybe it's because I haven't been completely invested in the story this year but I keep finding myself drifting off in to thinking more about the actors than the characters, and it was pretty interesting in a meta way to see 41 year old Sarah Paulson as Audrey expressing worries about a relationship with a big age gap when in real life her current girlfriend Holland Taylor is 73 years old and 32 years her senior!

Was it just me, or did the bullet look like a shell casing?

I noticed there were still a few parts with F-bombs bleeped out, so seems to imply that the footage is still being 'edited' by somebody and presented as a show vs just being us seeing the footage as it happens.

Seems like we're heading for the next 'big twist' of it's the show within the show within the REAL show and at this point the entire cast is actors, and actors playing the previous actual actors... off into recursive horror hell  :)

The final twist is the camera pans back to the actual AHS production staff and it's all some kind of weird behind the scenes show of the actual AHS production

I may be remembering wrong, but I believe the statement they used was "what you are about to see was pieced together from footage found online" (something like that). Anyways, it's not a serious theory at all (I have no investment in it) and was one that made me chuckle a little bit.

Sarah Paulson wins TV this week with "I'm not an American, I'm not used to all this carnage!" Great and funny line that broke some of the tension in a very scary episode. Kathy Bates was off the hook, too. And Shelby? That's how you beat someone's head in without losing your viewers. AND we still have Finn Wittrock and Taissa Farmiga to look forward to.

As far as speculations, I'm going to say I don't think @KingKobra's suggestion about the camera will pan out. I still think a woman will survive, either Shelby or Audrey. I do like @redlancer's idea that the last 2 episodes will feature the cast playing themselves in our real world on the set of AHS. It would be a nice meta-twist that could shed a lot of light on the mythology.

About Matt, I don't think he consciously came back for Gaga. We believed him the first time that he was in a trance and didn't remember having sex with her, and it seems like he was in a trance right before he died. Trance-Matt was admitting what awake-Matt wasn't aware of, that he was in love with Gaga and came back for her.

  • For the series, we know it's the last episode that is supposed to diverge again. 1-5 was "chapter one" 6-9 "chapter two" and episode 10 "final chapter". If they keep to what was said early on.

  • I could probably find this out, but I'm going to ask instead!  ;-)

Has Sarah Paulson ever *not* survived a season of AHS?  I think she was one of the last standing in every season up to Freak Show, I don't remember if she died there.  I guess she was a ghost in Hotel, but she didn't really change states from where we first encountered her.
