i searched for any discussions on this and couldn't find anything so apologies if there's one already.. in the meantime who's ready for some Rick Sanchez bitches?!
That was a lot to take in. My wife got me season one and two on Blu-ray as an early birthday present. The commentaries are pure gold, and some of the deleted scenes, especially for some of the more improvisational episodes (inter-dimensional cable) are great. I've got an increased respect for their creative process and the relatively serious approach they take to it. You can't argue with the result. I mean, you can, it's all subjective, everything is meaningless and you could die tomorrow, so, whatever *burp*, MORTY.
I can't wait for July 30th, except I guess I can, since everyone who's anyone has already seen episode 301. Except Jim. He's not anybody, apparently.
@A_Ron_Hubbard I'm pretty sure July 30th is 302 (or maybe 301 and 302). Could be wrong on that, but that's the idea I got from the way they were marketing it.
I also just went through the commentaries and really enjoyed them. I love that Dan and Justin did commentary for every episode, and it made a lot of sense anytime one of them took credit for a particular joke or storyline.
yeah looks like i totally missed an episode that already aired (just DVR'd) so the episode that airs on 7/30 would be 302. gonna watch those back to back.
i still remember House of Cosbys blowing up people's computers at a start up i worked at in 2006. hands on belly laughter around the office. good for Justin Roiland!

Yeah, July 30th is definitely episode 302. They've been re-airing episode 301 A LOT since it aired on a loop on April Fools day, so re-airing it again on the 30th by itself would be just another day.
I wonder if they are going to lean into the fan theorizing aspect of the show even more in season 3. If episode 301 is any indication, they will. Watching fan theory break downs on youtube about a 30 minute animated sci-fi comedy is almost surreal.
Its weird, I bought a Season Pass on iTunes, and the 301 hasn't been added as far as I can tell. I wonder if both 301 and 302 will ping through on the same day.

Not that it's really necessary, but any chance the guys do a Season 3 preview cast? I'd love to hear the guys talk about the comedic direction Roiland and Harmon may go, will it get topical given the current environment?
Am I a bad Father for letting my 6 year old watch Rick and Morty? He loves it and completely understands it's a cartoon. He never repeats any bad words and doesnt have a bad bone in his body. Wouldn't even hurt an ant. But I can see why some people would shake their head if I told them i let my young kid watch it.

Bro you are father of the year, full disclosure i am not a parent
Haha. He laughs his ass off at it. He loves it. But he definitely doesn't pick up any bad habits from it. He knows the bad words are not to be repeated and he knows the difference between cartoon action and real life.
His Favourite episode by far is Scary Terry but he hasn't said bitch once. I really enjoy laughing with him. He definitely has the same sense of humour as me.

My 3 year old little girl watches it when I have it on, but she has ZERO clue what is happening and doesn't have any context to put it in. She has an idea about which words are 'bad words' and even says "hey that's a bad word!" if she notices it sometimes, so I'm not so worried about the language.
Everything else is just to bizarre for her to pick up anything bad from it. At least that's what I tell myself.
When she sees the Rick and Morty icon image as I'm scrolling through, she still say "MOHTY! MOHTY!"
We're a weird culture in how much we try to shelter children. Maybe don't limit exposure as much as put things in context and make sure they know the difference between reality and imagination.
I mean, don't make your kid watch something that is scary to them, or obviously inappropriate. But potty language and cartoon violence? Don't start showing your kid snuff films, but I think you're okay with Rick and Morty.

As long as you don't tell him it's ok to hurt insects since they are just robots I guess it's ok. :-)
