Depending on how you feel about the F word, I would be wary of letting your kids watch the blu rays with you. You don't realize how much they bleep until you watch it unedited, which I would highly recommend for adults.
i actually bought the first 2 seasons on iTunes (which are uncensored) and the swearing is totally noticeable. i did a re-watch of those seasons to gear up for season 3 then i watched episode 301 (i couldn't wait to watch on sunday with 302) and now the bleeps stand out.
hey, if you think it's all good and the boy is enjoying it by all means. dad knows what's up. now if you get a call from his school because he told his 1st grade teacher that she's like Hitler, except.. Hitler cared about Germany, or something? then i think you may need to re-evaluate the situation
I am curious why they haven't renewed the series. It seems like a slam dunk. Rick and Morty is their most popular show, probably ever. I'm still pretty sure they will bring the show back, but what is the damn hold-up?

I'm guessing it's a combination of Cartoon Network being goddamn savants at shooting themselves in the dick when it comes to original programming, and Harmon being, by all accounts, deeply unpleasant to work with.
The show is popular enough that I have to imagine the money to be made will eventually get both parties on board, but if this was a different network and/or creator we probably wouldn't have these delays.
Having listened to almost 100 episodes of Harmontown (and maybe that's true of everyone else here), I don't think Dan enjoys the pressure to deliver something he's unsure that he can deliver. I mean, I've heard him talk about how helpful a deadline is, but a deadline doesn't guarantee a product you're proud of. It just guarantees a product.
I suspect Dan/Justin are trying to figure out if there's anything worth renewing for.
I'm sure Adult Swim will eventually come around. They'd be stupid not to considering how popular this show has become. And if they don't, Netflix, Hulu, anywhere...
Also, Dan Harmon is involved, did anyone really think this would end any other way than in flames? I love the dude but that kind of seems to be his M.O.
This is such a huge thing - I'm so proud of these guys and am legitimately excited they got this opportunity. And I love that they got it partially because of their hustle with Stranger Things. I was looking through the forum waiting for people to freak out about this and I can't believe it's not bigger. Amazing, amazing news.
Thanks, everyone! The past couple weeks have been super exciting behind the scenes. And if they (and we) can deliver on half the stuff that's been talked about it'll be a great 2019 for everyone!
So...I guess this is my cue to finally catch up with the world and watch Rick and Morty? I watched the first episode with a friend a few years back and it got a few laughs out of me but didn't compel me enough to come back to it on my own time. Plus, the internet discourse surrounding the show has always seemed a tad inaccessible and pretentious and I think perhaps that has put me off really trying to get into it in the past.
But now this is happening, so I look forward to going on the journey with the guys to guide me! It's really brilliant news, all these behind the scenes things sound super exciting. Very stoked for the future of BM!

personally, i think the pilot is one of the worse eps. but if you get thro it (esp now with this rad coverage).. then you my friend, are in for an amazing journey!
I too watched the 1st episode and passed on it. I couldn't understand why so many people liked it. Then 6 months ago I gave it another shot and vowed to at least try half of 1st season. I ended up watching everything. They would be better served either deleting the pilot or running a disclaimer before it.

Some bald move coverage should drastically increase your enjoyment of the show, especially on a first time viewing. It seems like a goofy cartoon on the surface, but once you start to pull it apart it's got as much theory crafting and social-political commentary as any of the other top tier shows out there. I think a few deep dives into the lore will be a helluva ride.

It was good while it lasted
I'm holding out hope adult swim, another network, or streaming service will pick it up in a later year if Dan, Justin, & co. are willing.

EDIT 2019: this post did not age well

Our lives are now complete...
Same, but I'm guessing it's because it's essentially an ad.
