How do the guys pay for so many active iTunes feeds?

At the moment I have all of my podcasts on one iTunes feed and I would just like to know how the guys have multiple iTunes feeds

I believe that's where we and the advertisers come in...it's a costly enterprise.
  • Our website is built on Wordpress and we use the Powerpress plugin for all of our podcast feeds.  That lets us make as many feeds as we'd like through our website and we can just submit them to iTunes.  All of that (Wordpress / Powerpress) is free.  We just have to pay the hosting fees for the website, which at this point are considerable.

If you're talking about hosting the podcast files, that's another story.  We use Libsyn for that.  They're a media host.  They charge us about $200/mo to host all of the podcasts we produce and they sell ads on the episodes.  We get 60% of the ad revenue and they get 40%.  That's how they are able to charge us so little for podcasts that get downloaded 600,000+ times.

Maybe we should do a future Empire Business episode on our tech?

This thread is far more insightful than I thought it would be when I clicked. I know I've heard of other (much smaller) podcasts mentioning their use of Libsyn and I've seen it quite often Libsyn in the link of the podcasts I download, but I never knew (until now) exactly where their involvement was.
