401 - So It Goes / 402 - Signal to Noise
Just because the podcast isn't happening, doesn't mean the five of us here who still watch this show can't talk about it.
I really enjoyed this premiere. It seems like their plans for the final season changed at some point, since last year they set this up to be about web browsers, yet here they immediately jump forward three years (with a great montage, to be fair, and it allows the show to go full '90s - Fresh Prince of Bel-Air references and everything) and it seems like the season is actually going to be about search engines. Once you get used to that, there's a lot here to like - we know these characters so well by now that they can just have two of them talk on the phone for a whole episode and still have it be entertaining.
There are sadder moments here too, though. Not the fact that Joe's father died, no one cares about that - we must mourn the tragic loss of John Bosworth's boat.

Here's my sad story: watching these episodes felt like a chore. I wasn't into it. There are a few reasons that may be the case besides the episodes themselves, but at this point I don't know. I probably should have turned them off and come back later.
Favorite part: Dad feeling out at daughter's website. (Oh God, the names have left me too.)
Want: More drama with ex-husband!!!!!!! That can't be over, can it? That shit was the best stuff.
"This is great. Talking on the phone like this. But imagine if we could take pictures of our cats and meals with these things? And send them to each other! The possibilities are almost unlimitless!"
I'd also like to know what cordless phone Joe had that lasted basically all night.
Especially liking Donna (as always); her entrance to the season was pretty epic and I'm enjoying her storyline so far.
