I was unable to purchase these two make up palettes yesterday during their launch ( I was on 4 different sites trying to get them but every where sold out so quickly ) and super bummed about it. Then I woke up this morning to find out one of my friends accidentally bought an extra set and is going to sell them to me!

^ I love some of those color names!

So for lunch I'm doing some man-care / self-care for the first time ever and I'm excited about it.  This popular strip center near my work as a The Joint and a European Wax Center.  I've never had a chiropractic adjustment and I've never had my nose hairs waxed.  I usually use my Brett Fahvrugh nose trimmer thing.  So 1st visit to this chiropractic chain is only $29 bux and 1st visit to the wax place is complimentary! Usually it's $14 for a nose waxing.  I'm stoked on the man-care but also the thriftiness.  Holy shit I'm probably 2 steps away from getting a mani-pedi.  I've heard a lot of dudes dig it.  That might be next on the horizon...

    Hell yeah! Happy birthday!

Veterans Day is one of my company's unofficial holidays. We don't bill extra for it or give it off unless it's requested, but I damn sure celebrate it. My pool mentor is a veteran, and every year I meet up with him to buy him a beer and shoot some racks. He became a cigar enthusiast since last VD, so we'll be throwing that in the mix as well. Other than that, I've knocked out all the big to do's for work already, and just need to coast until Monday night football. Cheers!

Pool mentor that's awesome.  @Freddy ;Want to come up to Minnesota and be my pool mentor?  I promise you the weather is amazing (jk it's only 16 degrees F (feels like -1) right now).  I'm pretty good but I've had a rough go of it in the league I play in lately.  Lots of guys that will run the table like it's nothing.

    Happy birthday @Michelle!!!!

This didn’t make my day or anything, but I’m waiting to be seated for dinner and two older men (60s or early 70s) are sitting near me and after the greeter talks to them and walks away, the one nearest me says “Check out the caboose on her.  It’s fascinating.”  I couldn’t help but roll my eyes and kind of laugh under my breath.  Ah men, you never change.
  • It was TV series that revolves around a poor girl who takes the responsibility of her younger siblings and living a tough life. Then, a hero entered into her life but again, he belongs to a gang. But their chemistry is outclassed.

Just received this text from my wife:

I feel bad for her, but I'd be lying if I said it didn't make me laugh and improve my day.

Cold enough to burn some wood tonight. Got a nice weenie roast going with s’mores to finish. My wife was obsessed with piñon wood after my childhood Santa Fe stories. So she got a bag of piñon which smelled great and I went to my hook up, this real TX chainsaw sketch af hillbilly lot near the hood and got a fffffat af 1/4 cord of dry seasoned oak for a 20 spot.

We also had our first fire of the season last night. How I love the smell. Need to check into piñon bits. And happy for any other “make your fire better” recommendations  :)

Super chill day... coffee, working on my Ancestry family tree, & watching old lunches.  I'm probably the last one to do so, but I finally realized that when I pull them up on YouTube, I can connect & play them on my tv via my Roku, so I have these old lunch vids on big screen.  Kind of cool.  :)   (it's the little things sometimes)

  • Background info: I teach for a living.

It’s genuinely frustrating when students ask for “help” despite the fact that they have put in no effort on their own. That said, recently I was able to experience the opposite of this. Four (local) students in my online logic class scheduled an appointment with me to go over the material in person. We did logic proofs for almost 2 hours in a classroom on campus. As they were leaving I overheard “I can’t believe I get this and even kind of like it now.”

3 Weeks until this little Australian Shepherd comes to live with us. We're already in love with her. You can only just tell right now, but it's looking like she'll have one blue eye and one amber eye.

Forgot to include her name. It's Matilda, or Tilly to her friends. :)

It's hard to post this after super cute puppy pictures...but the thing that's making my day today is a pretty good quality recording of the last ever Slayer concert.

I did this one additional time... a face to face meeting for my online logic class. It went well, but more importantly... one student let it slip that her trip to campus was 4 hours round trip (there are no junior colleges in her part of the state).

Rest assured, my future students (particularly those with poor excuses for a lack of effort)... they will hear of the legend of Kimberly.

This one is raised for you @Freddy. A few weeks back at Carmine’s in Chicago the grizzled bartender said “Never heard of it” when I asked if he could do a Vieux Carre.  Not a problem at all at the Carousel Bar here in the French Quarter!  To the OG!
