Southern Cali Earthquakes

MichelleMichelle California
Last night there was a big 6.4 earthquake with over 1700 aftershocks, and a 6.9 just happened about an hour ago. :astonished:  So Cal friends, just checking in to see if everyone’s okay!

All good in Whittier, fish tank sloshed some but water didn’t get out like in the Yorba Linda quake which was close by but not too strong.
This is my third major quake in all my years in so cal.
    Good luck be prepared.

    Um... ok.

@kingbee67 & @gguenot, I’m so glad to hear you don’t have any damage.  @gguenot I know you’re not super close to the epicenter but I assume you felt it pretty strongly?  Hang in there, guys!  Hoping it’s the last one!

The epicenter is out towards the Mojave desert, in kern county so unless you live out there, I think you are ok. ( It’s 150 miles northeast of LA. )

But yes indeed those quakes lasted long and were pretty big ones.

I'm flying in Monday for over a week on a work trip, RIP me. (Just to make this about me. But seriously I'll take tornadoes and hurricanes over earthquakes... and tsunamis? Staying a mile from the ocean, RIP me.)

I live on the Central Coast - we felt them here, but luckily very mildly.
We do have some extra water, but I'm going to buy some more at the store today.

    Stay safe everyone!
  • Another baby one. It was nice knowing you, @JaimieT

1st work trip: mudslides covering highways
2nd work trip: fires devouring buildings
    3rd work trip: earthquakes ?????????

    Always the apocalypse in California.

And oh, work trip 1.5 was cancelled because the air was unbreathable.

Why do people live here again? ;)
