I'm SO in on this!

  • Does this have contiguous plot lines and characters with the earlier Craig films? Has been so long since I’ve watched them and only recognize Ralph Fiennes and the CIA/Bernard from Westworld.

I don't love the trailer. It looks a little thrown together. That being said, the mini gun scene is great. Ever since Predator and T2, I've always been a sucker for mini guns.

I'm not sure what the plot is and if it's a continuation or not.  Jeffry Wright (Bernard from Westworld) is Felix, Bond's CIA contact - he's been in a couple of the Craig Bond films.

The art of making a good trailer was lost on everyone decades ago...but the bits shown here look cool to me.  I like the return to classic cars.

Anyone ever listen to James Bonding? Matt Mira and Matt Gourley host and it's great. I'm not the biggest JB fan but I do enjoy them mostly. But they have done a deep dive on every movie multiple times with tons of great guests. If you're a JB fan, you should definitely give it a listen.

I was not a Bond fan but a huge Daniel Craig fan. I’ll watch anything he’s in. So I became a Craig/Bond fan. The trailer looked interesting. And long. For a moment I wondered if they were going to show the whole movie.

I have no clue what the storyline is. I heard a rumor he’s passing the gauntlet to someone not male and not white. Doesn’t matter to me. When Craig’s gone I am too.

I'm a huge Bond fan, and I know that I'm in a small minority when I say this but I think Craig is one of the best Bonds ever...maybe second on to Sean Connery.

The entire Craig series of films has been building to Spectre returning and its been a throughline of all the movies.  Even Casino Royale has a nod to Spectre at the very end of it.

I'm a huge Bond fan so I'm very excited for this.  Connery is the best, but Craig is very good as Bond.  I'm sure this is trailer trickery, but it appears that his wife/GF and the other 007 are both working for Spectre.

Is there a cooler Bond car than the classic Goldfinger Austin Martin?  Such a beautiful car.

  • I haven’t been interested in JB for a while, however, Rami Malek as a Bond Villain does sound very interesting.

Rami went from A Night At The Opera to Phantom Of The Opera...

I haven't seen a Bond film since Casino Royale, but I am curious about this one because Craig asked Phoebe Waller-Bridge to rework the script, and it's being touted as the first post-#MeToo Bond film with a hint that the torch may be passed to Lashana Lynch. I don't know how that would work, also PWB said that Bond is who he is, it's how the Bond films represent and treat women that needs to change. Fukunaga's direction looks like it might update the franchise a bit, too.
  • I like Craig a lot too, but my fandom of Bond basically jumps to him from Connery, bypassing Moore and Brosnan altogether, so I'm not sure how much that counts.

I put on Live and Let Die (it and a few other Bond flicks available on Epix right now) because i vaguely remembered the theme song and wanted to hear it again, and I'm actually enjoying it. I'm not sure whether that means I have good or bad taste.... :)

Even if it’s Idris Elba??? Because he seemingly would be perfect for James Bond.

The insane backlash that those rumours caused made Elba come out and say that he didn't want the role...which is sad because obviously he's perfect for it.

Seriously? No matter how much of a racist dummy someone is,
it seemingly is obvious, if you’ve ever seen him in any of his most famous roles, that Idris Elba has the perfect combination of being able to portray both “intensely menacing” and “extraordinarily charming”. He’s potentially even more James Bond-y than Sean Connery. And it’s not like there’s not actually plenty of actual real-life black covert operatives in the actual MI6. Man, that’s a huge bummer. I really can’t understand people.

That would certainly get the attention of my bf. He has a very healthy man crush on Idris ever since The Wire.
