    Olbermann has always been trash.

I will say, though, one can simultaneously recognize the schadenfreude of republican voters getting exactly what they voted for and realize that 1/3 to 1/2 the voters in those states didn't vote for this and that just being a stupid voter doesn't mean you deserve to die.

Also, it's clear that GOP leadership doesn't care because they aren't killing their voters - this stuff always falls on minorities and the working poor the most, and most of that group don't vote republican.

To be clear, I am 100% for bashing and clowning on republican leadership and I don't have a ton of sympathy for the  anti maskers and trumpers when they reap what they sow. I just hate the dancing on graves of people because they're from a red state when like you said it's always the poor and marginalized who are hit the hardest.

You should really move to Texas with all our money, guns, drugs, awesome vaccination camps, funky power grid, and bitch ass Ted Cruz. Do you like The Lottery!? 'Cause we got all The Lottery! The food is great! Wear a coat or four when shit gets weird.
  • Yeah, GA is not doing so great @JoshTheBlack but hopefully things will pick up soon.
I didn't expect to get mine for a while because FL is still at kind of a low percentage and it's limited to 60+, health care workers, law enforcement, firefighters, and teachers, plus the medically vulnerable if your doctor fills out a form. I kept hearing that appointments were hard to get too. I got the medical form since I'm a cancer survivor and then I saw on Twitter that one large FEMA site here (it's West Valencia, if any other Central Florida people here want to find it!) was not at all busy, consistently, and it was a walk up too so I got right in. Man, they were super efficient and moving people through really quickly.

Just got my 1st dose of Moderna! @JoshTheBlack, have you looked for an appointment? I registered with the state site and got an email with a slot the same day I booked one in my own through Publix.

CA finally lowered the age group and I got my first shot Friday. Right after I scheduled the second April shot I booked my flights to NY to see my family in June. Haven’t felt this “up” in a year.

  • You know what is a real ride? Reading through the first few pages of this thread with a year of hindsight. It's pretty humorous.

Glad the vaccine is making its way to more people!

GA opens up vaccines to everyone 16+ as of today.  I'm scheduled for the Pfizer next Friday!  I got that vaccinated attitude coming my way.

How is everyone feeling about travel this year?  I feel like we're seeing a light at the end of the tunnel with more and more people being vaccinated and numbers continuing to decrease.  I'm planning on taking my nieces on another one of our quality time vacays in July, this time to Seattle/Portland/Hood River.  I feel like in 4 more months things will have continued to settle and it won't be *as big* a risk.  Of course we will still mask & sanitize (even though I get my 2nd vaccine shot next weekend & will be fully vaccinated 2 weeks after that).  I am so excited to plan vacation again, especially with my girlies.
  • Awwwwww yeah have an appointment for shot 1 this Friday and I'm the last person among family who live close to get it.

I had my first vaccine of the Oxford Az one 3 weeks ago, most people here in Wales Uk has had this jab. Very few side effects, I had a headache a few hours later.

I feel relieved & like a weight has been lifted. Will get second dose in 9 weeks. It’s good to be able to be a bit more relaxed but still obviously following the rules.

That 2nd moderna shot absolutely floored my ass all of yesterday. The night after the shot it was just like someone took a hammer to my shoulder. Yesterday morning I was fever drunk and couldn’t shut up about how good it felt. You know the type of sick that weirdly feels nice? But then it amplified and I slept in bed all afternoon, just completely drained.  All good today though.

I barely even have any soreness so far. I hear its the next day usually people feel rough, if they're going to.  I have a pretty strong constitution, so I doubt I will have any trouble.

When I got sick in 2019, my blood pressure dropped to 60/30.  I was light-headed whenever I would stand up, and generally felt bad.  The doctor said he couldn't believe I was standing, or was able to drive myself to his office.  Said he would have fainted long before he got that low.
