I would be laughing if the Rangers didn’t get smoked by them tonight and hold the worst record in the AL. With a commanding 1 game lead over the Pirates for worst in baseball.
This isn’t really a shocker (nor is it definitively conclusive of anything), but it pushes me closer to the view that the Astros WS win deserves a * as much as (or more than) any modern home run record.

I'm still extremely mad at the Astros for this, but I think we should take the mental side of the equation into consideration as well. For instance, Altuve has hit at every stop in his professional career since A-ball. He was viewed universally as a "good guy" prior to this and has seen quite a lot of backlash since. He should still be firmly in his prime. I would be betting on something of a bounce-back for guys like him next season.

Pretty much the whole state’s on fire, so I doubt this will be a problem. Seriously though. it is supposed to be a warm week. I mean, my little city on the water hit a high of 91 today and we *very* rarely see that, so you just know it’ll be hot this week in Cali.
the A's have been inconsistent as of late. their starting pitching has been hit or miss (mostly getting hit on) and on offense they strike out alot (i think they lead the league). plus they don't have their stud 3B Matt Chapman which sucks. during a 162 game season they usually get hot around the 60-70 game mark so I hope that's the case with this weird shortened season.
