It really feels like Jimmy/Saul and Kim will not last through this season...

  • It was good to see Saul making his deals again... I always love watching fast-talking Saul bulldoze his way through cases.

Yep. It’s all lined up to perfectly fit with the BB world. Great job

As much fun as the tent-phone montage was last episode, I loved the one-shot of Saul bouncing around between conversations in the courthouse. It was less flashy, but more reliant on Odenkirk. And he is always enough for me.

  • "Skell" is used again- they say that all the time on NYPD Blue.

Agreed. I guess they’re trying to show that Saul’s 50% off deal really does encourage people to commit crimes(?)

First, that’s ridiculous. Second, even so, making that point does not justify the sequence’s length.

Right from the get-go I couldn’t help but think “Why should I at all care about these wanna-be Badger and Skinny P stand-ins”? Overall, I liked the episode, but that opening... oof.
  • 50 % ?? That's almost half !!!  :D
When Lalo says I have a better idea to deal with the crazy 8 situation I was relieved to hear he meant sound legal advice and not just have him killed. Same with the Nacho family situation.
I like the feeling that the stakes a real in this fictional world which is why I bought Saul beeing truly terrified when Nacho asks him to get in.

Yeah that sequence was pretty redundant and probably would have annoyed me even more had we not gotten two episodes this week. I hope they manage to keep a steady pace this season and with the story lines starting to finally cross over it should up the intensity.
  • I love Howard. The disdain he has for Saul's outfit is perfect.

    thought this was pretty cool..

  • Shit I didn’t even notice that! I just thought that scene was there to show Lalu doesn’t trust him to keep his mouth shut when he folded such a strong hand.
  • Btw agree with Jim and Alexis. Lalo has to be one of the most likeable characters in the universe. Nacho is really good as well but I’m actually disappointed we know what will happen.

The scene where Lalo and Nacho are eating and Lalo confronts nacho on loco ocho is fucking golden. Lalo takes a bite of food and just stares at Nacho without blinking when Nacho says he trusts Domingo is perfect. No words are said but lalo’s stare says all you need to know.
  • Also these first 2 episodes have made Gus into an even more frightening villain and adds so much more satisfaction to season 4 of BB.
  • From the poker scene, I didn’t take it as Ocho Loco (I speak espanol now) being bad at poker as Jim and Alexis suggested, I understood it as if you don’t want to be on Lalo’s bad side you just fold to his aggression. I think even Lalo knew what was happening but just wanted to embarrass him even more.

That is how I took it as well. He wanted to play nice so he let him win.

That's exactly how I interpreted that scene as well.  He folded not because he thought Lalo had a better hand but because he didn't want to take money from Lalo and piss him off.

The camera holds on Domingo just long enough for the language of cinema to tell the viewer that this was intentional.

I question how smart Lalo is because it’s obvious to anyone who plays that Krazy-8 is letting him win. Also “let me see what you had” actually revealing and opponent’s cards is a total no-no in an uncalled bet situation.

I guess that goes with Lalo acting inappropriately tailing Mike and actually still needing Hector, never known for his subtlety.  for tactical advice.
  • The inspiring triumphant music absolutely makes this already wicked monologue
