I was going to and got sidetracked - totally agree! We got the full Saul Goodman playbook on display and it was quite the sure to behold.

It just occurred to me that I greatly enjoy whenever Kevin and Paige get roped up in the drama. This episode and the one in Season 2 where Chuck fails to get Mesa Verde the permit applications are just incredible in terms of severe akwardness.

So what are we supposed to make of Kim's proposal?

I think the open and close of the episode are closely related. Both have loved ones of Kim letting her down when she was expecting them to be there for her. Both spend a lot of time trying to convince her that it's no big deal and she's making too much of it. Both involve alcohol, but for different reasons. The cold open ended with Kim's mom giving up and driving home(presumably), but the ending concluded with Kim either doing the same or doubling down. I wonder if Kim will do the same and give up or maybe she later doubled down as a kid and never went back home. Either way, I'm seriously loving this season and it sucks for anybody that gave up on it. I think Rhea Seehorn is at the peak level of understanding her character and performing it on screen.

Completely agree. It was a fantastic episode. During the final scene I was saying, "This is it. Kim's limit." and then wham! My boyfriend and I both yelled, "what the fuck?" We talked about it for many minutes after - Why? did she really mean it? Now what will happen? Rhea is my new girl crush.

@Jim and Alexis - where do you think those two will go from here?

Oh - the scene with Howard and the hookers and Jimmy doing a play by play. I was rolling.

That last scene was a roller coaster of emotion. I started out pissed at Jimmy, then it got dusty in the room, followed by complete bewilderment. What the fuck, Kim? Rhea Seehorn is amazing.

Also the cold open reminded us once again that Kim is from Nebraska ... a Kim and Gene Omaha reunion is still on the table IMO ....

I didn’t really like it. Seemed a little too easy to con that librarian. Why is Mike all-in on working for Gus now? Just for revenge?  That seemed like a leap to me. Is it something else we don’t know yet or was that the definitive moment last week?

This episode was brutal. This is the episode when Jimmy went from funny to monster for me. Kim is obviously damaged, as we saw at the beginning of the episode. I think deep down she just wants to be loved. And Jimmy doesn’t love her back. He knows she loves being a lawyer and he savaged her in front of her peers just so he could win and stroke his own ego. I think she proposed to him to make HIM see he doesn’t love her. He only loves himself. Everyone else is just a sucker.

This 100% sums up my thoughts as well. I audibly asked what the fuck just happened to absolutely no one but myself when she proposed or whatever you want to call that. I couldn't believe it.

The Jimmy/Kim storyline has been an absolute rollercoaster and I've been loving it. I'm not digging the side story of Gus, Lalo, Mike nearly as much but it isn't bad enough that it really brings this season down. Can't wait to see what the fuck happens with Kim and Mesa Verde and Jimmy next episode.

Just caught up to this episode.  WOW, that final scene.  I thought for sure she was going to break up with him then and there and pack her stuff, but that total 180 - I did not see that coming!

I've been silently agreeing with everyone who has been praising Rhea Seehorn's talent but tonight, she really did a mic drop. 

And yeah, it did seem a *bit* too easy for Mike to con the librarian, but it was also a small stroke of genius.  On the other hand, I'm reallllllly worried that Nacho isn't going to make it through this alive.

@Michelle I agree about Nacho. What a cruel twist of fate it would be if one of my favorite characters from Breaking Bad(Mike) ends up being the demise of one of my favorite characters from Better Call Saul(Nacho).

In that same moment, when Saul has been drug out to the desert by Walt and Jesse, Saul asks if they are working with Lalo and then says it wasn't him [Saul] it was Ignacio. Long form for Nacho.

I agree. Honestly though, I haven't really been a fan of Mike's defecting from Gus at all this season. I get that he's broken up from killing Werner, but for him to go from his multiple-episode bender to back in the right-hand man spot overnight makes the whole thing feel pointless. Especially given his unwavering loyalty to Gus in Breaking Bad.

I feel as though that time could have been spent building up his partnership with Victor who he still hasn't really interacted with at all. I got the impression from BrBa that Victor was his "guy" for a while. Same goes for all the other men under him that end up getting shanked by Walt.

I too questioned how Mike was going to get back in full loyalty form to Gus.  In BB, it seems like Mike is 100% loyal without questions.  Here, Mike is really not a fan of Gus anymore but then overnight is like "ok, i'm back, all in".  Just seems like a little bit of a stretch there.

As for Kim, my issue is after Jimmy/Saul does what he does, there's no way she's either a) working for Mesa Verde (either they say we're done with her law firm or they said we're done with having her represent us) or b) her boss fires her just because of her association with Jimmy/Saul.  Either way, I have a hard time believe she keeps her job.  Yes, she acted genuine with her anger for what transpired but still, her relationship to Jimmy/Saul, should be be what seals her fate.

I'd assume her marriage proposal is so she wouldn't have or couldn't be asked to testify against Jimmy/Saul.  But that was also vintage Saul Goodman there.  You had to know he was basically going to double cross Kim or in the process humiliate her on a professional level.

The weird thing about the conversation with the detective in this BCS episode is that the detective ends the call by calling the caller "Sir."  That would have had to be Jesse calling - not Aunt Ginny, but why? Was he on a meth binge or something, or just calling on behalf of Aunt Ginny due to her brain-impaired insistence?
