I don’t know if there’s anything to be gleaned from this. It might just be the whole George Lucas thing - “It rhymes.”
Thanks for bringing up the space blanket parallel - I didn't even make that connection but flashing back to him sitting in the roadway with it wrapped around him, I totally see it now. Ah, the writing on this show.... brilliant.

Kim reveals to Lalo that she knows what's going on. So yes she is in the game. And this is one game Kim doesn't know how to play. I think this may tie back to why we don't see or hear about her in BB.
And the cousins! Not sure what it says about me but I was so happy to see them.
And honestly - the Esteem was driven into a wash. Off a cliff would have been better.
Question - are the smugglers who attacked Jimmy there because of the phone call made at the warehouse? My first thought about it was that the call was to Lalo's bosses, letting them know he's taking quite a chunk of change for his own use, perhaps without permission? Is Lalo going rouge in the US?
One more thing - what was that Peter Gould tweet about? He said something like we better watch it live?
I do wonder about how this will affect things between Mike and Jimmy. Jimmy needs to get that money to bail Lalo out, but that would not be what Mike would want as Lalo has been a pain in the tail for Gus.
As fare the Gould tweet. I think he is just worried about the Twitters, Reddits, and Instagrams of the world spoiling it through gifs if you don't watch it somewhat close to the live airing.
Along with "jump the shark" and "nuke the fridge" (both of which are generally negative comments), I propose we add a new phrase "drank the pee" to indicate when a show finally gets all of its characters fully committed to the premise.
Like, Jimmy was still trying to find a way to be a good guy while indulging his worst instincts, but by the end of the episode, he drank the pee and is fully Saul.
Kim did her best to balance plausible deniability with spousal privilege, but once she decided to see Lalo on her own, she drank the pee and is now in the game.
Okay, maybe this isn't such a hot metaphor. Maybe "trashed the Suzuki" is better.
Fantastic episode though. Great call @Killert0ast as I didn't make the space blanket connection either. I love this show so much. I am really interested in seeing the ramifications of Kim going to see Lalo. I have a feeling he won't be so touched that Saul's wife was concerned for his well being.
Also not sure if they check the forum before podcasting. @Gan remembered about Mike and the gas cap - a fantastic connection!
This week's podcast from Jim and Alexis seemed much shorter. Jim really burned through the recap. Maybe that was because it was less about character and more about going from scene to scene, so there is less to really discuss. I too am bummed that he didn't like it as much. I understand his point about it being less about character than some other pivotal episodes like Chicanery.
And Mike is GPS tracking Saul, but he doesn't bring any dudes with an extra vehicle, I have more water in the trunk of my car than Mike brought with him into the desert, I guess everything is gonna be ok if he brings his gun. I guess all for a good story.....
