I've Got Something To Say

So, I have something that I really need to get off my chest. I know that I should just keep it to myself. I know it will be very polarizing and that many of my friends may find it complicated to still be my friend, if they even want to, and that many of my followers may not want to follow anymore. This could “cancel” me.

Here’s the thing though. The only path to true peace within one’s self is acceptance. I need to be me. I need to accept myself and live true to my own mind. I mean, I’m not doing myself or anyone who I care about any favors not being myself. Existing as some fabricated construct of what the internet might want me to be. I’m not afraid anymore. I have to be me and if there are consequences to it, if people don’t like me anymore I suppose it’s better to be not liked as real me than liked as a fake me. At least that way I am living in truth and not dealing with the constant anxiety of holding up a front. It’s exhausting, truly, and I just can’t live like that anymore.

So, here it is. Here is the truth about how I feel and I hope that you will read forward with empathy and maybe as opposed to being angry at my opinions you will respect that I will no longer live as anything but myself and if you disagree maybe we can discuss it instead of just being written off in anger.

So, here we go. I’m just going to come out and say it now. Here it is.

I like ice cream. I really like it a lot. I eat a small bowl of it almost every day and often will sneak one last spoon of it afterwards. I even sometimes mix in a little peanut butter from the jar.

Thank you for your attention and hopefully your understanding. Be well.

not gonna lie. i held my breath (cause trav is a cool ass dude) when i clicked the spoiler hoping it wouldn't be political (so i will try not to be). and it said something that rhymes with "CrumpWentyWenty'.

and mixing peanut butter from a jar into your ice cream is kinda weird. but i'm not mad at that. you do you bud!

    Chocolate > Peanut Butter

When I was a kid I used to take chocolate ice cream, chocolate pudding, chocolate cookies (usually Fudge-O), and chocolate chips, and mix them on top of a microwave warmed chocolate brownie.

I felt like Deanna Troi and I was kindred spirits.

But not you, not with peanut butter.  That only belongs on toast, possibly with cinnamon and sugar on top.

  • I was seriously holding my breath reading your post, wondering what the heck you were going to hit us with.  And I have to say, after reading your confession, I’m honestly dumbfounded.  I never expected that kind of thing out of you and now I really have to take a step back.  I mean, seriously, @Travis????

Then again, I just poured some Bailey’s into my Haagen-Dasz Irish Cream & brownies ice cream, so fuck it. :joy:

Ohhh, but which flavor?  The cappuccino one is the best.
  • We all know that this is a joke, because we all know ice cream is good.

In fact, it’s not just that we all know that ice cream is good, we know that mint chocolate chip is the best ice cream.

Can I get a mod to close this discussion because I mean... c’mon(?)

I honestly don’t get the love for ice cream, or why it’s considered a comfort food. A freezing cold food is not comforting. I’m just gonna say it: ice cream is the most over-rated food in history.

haha less is more with It's-It's. it's already 2 cookies covered in chocolate with ice cream in the middle. the ice cream actually takes a backseat.

Dee, when our sides align, they align heavy. I haven’t had ice cream in years and I haven’t lost anything of value in my life in that time when it comes to food. Take your frozen milk out of here.

@Noel You’re my brother from another mother.

I eat it maybe once or twice a year when it’s like 45 degrees (Celsius) and the air con at work isn’t doing its job so the management goes around handing out Paddle Pops to shut everyone up. Or on the rare occasions I eat apple pie I don’t mind a bit of good vanilla ice cream with it. That’s pretty much it.

I got some peanut butter stout. What if I add vanilla ice cream to that? A beer float? Well now that I said it. Guess I’ll be going to get the ice cream later.

... I don't know if I can ever forgive you for what you did to that icecream.
    But I like to try.

I am seriously offended by this thread. As someone who can’t eat dairy how can I contribute to this discussion? How can I experience the BM love? Should I pretend I like mint chip because I’ve eaten a Junior Mint and I’m desperate to fit in? Should I exclaim the deliciousness of sherbet knowing full well sherbet sucks. I am so conflicted.

Is this 'double-dipping', cause that ain't allowed??

  • I do certainly enjoy ice cream but it's not an every day or even every week kind of thing. Nothing beats a dairy queen Blizzard Ice Cream Cake but as far as your generic store bought I'm all about the half baked or double fudge brownie.
