Nomadland

Watching "Nomadland," and even though I'm not far into it, there's just something familiar and comforting about seeing Frances McDormand in a snowy, sparse landscape. She and David Strathairn are the only named actors in it; everyone else is a real person who lives a nomadic life. Pretty fascinating.

I saw this a few weeks ago and loved it. There is no plot really so speak of, but it is a gorgeous shot and produced movie. They avoided some real dramatic pitfalls by just letting it be a quiet, slice of life for her character. I could see some people being really frustrated with it. I thought it was mesmerizing to watch.
