Book Spoiler: Tyrion question

So there have been a lot of theories that Tyrion is actually the son of Aerys The Mad King and Joanna Lannister, based on the physical description of Tyrion in the books.  I don’t think the DDs are going to play with that theory as there’s been no discussion of it on the tv show, but if he were would that mean that he had a better claim then either Dany or Jon to the iron throne? He would essentially be Dany’s older brother and Jon’s uncle albeit a bastard.

There's the rub - he'd be a bastard, and one who's father never legitimized him.

Edit - that is, even if this theory is true, which I don't think it is.
  • "Dwarves are always bastards in their father's eyes."

Especially if he really is a Targaryen bastard. hmmmmmmm.
  • I think the theory is true and I think while the DDs wont go whole hog with it they have winked at it.

    "Dwarves are always bastards"

also Tywin says something to the effect of

"You are a Lannister and I can't prove you aren't mine"
  • Full quote:

“You ask that? You, who killed your mother to come into the world? You are an ill-made, devious, disobedient, spiteful little creature full of envy, lust, and low cunning. Men’s laws give you the right to bear my name and display my colors, since I cannot prove that you are not mine. To teach me humility, the gods have condemned me to watch you waddle about wearing that proud lion that was my father’s sigil and his father’s before him. But neither gods nor men shall ever compel me to let you turn Casterly Rock into your whorehouse.”
