Elvis Costello and Blondie tonight at a great outdoor venue on a beautiful day! And it’s only a 10 minute drive from my house.

The Concord Pavilion?  I used to live in Concord and have seen many shows there.  My high school graduation was held there too.  It's a *great* spot!

Exactly.  And I just heard Lynard Skynard  and ZZ Top are playing there. Need to find out when. The bands are right in my teenage wheelhouse!

It was in the middle, upper level, across from Macy’s.  It used to be The Nature Company but that was before my time.  And yeah, I remember the plane crash!  That was scary
  • My washing machine had an error message that meant it wasn’t draining. After YouTubing I was able to fix it myself.  Took me several hours to do this, (not complicated but accessing the drain pump required pulling washer out, disconnecting from water, unscrewing an unnecessarily large amount of screws, unclamping hoses, draining out all water, then putting all back together)

Anyways I found and removed a penny in the pump and now the washer is working beautifully

just feels good to be a successful do-it-your-selfer!  And I feel grateful to all the helpful YouTube videos out there. And I guess I am one penny richer. All good things

I don't remember if there are any other users here that are interested in genealogy, but I've been working on my Ancestry.com family tree for a *very* long time and have made certain notable discoveries here & there.  I made another last night and called my mom to let her know (since it was on her side).  Just hearing the surprise and happiness in her voice and how it kind of blew her away just made my heart smile. Still thinking about it today.

Had something similar happen to me earlier this summer with my lawn mower. Took to get it checked out, the repair guy said it would be $125-150 depending on what they found. And it would be about a week. Went on YouTube, found my exact model with the same problem. I needed to clean the carburetor and replace the spark plug. Like you mentioned, it wasn’t too complicated, but it still took me a couple hours. I’m guessing we had similar feelings of accomplishment after being done.

I just youtube rabbit holed into the world of tela-novella slap compilations. Apparently Hilda Abrahamz is the Michael Jordan of this game.
I have no clue what anyone is saying, but it must be good.

Some lady came into the bar and asked if anyone had seen her missing dachshund. I casually responded with "not since lunch".

While I was at Old Navy earlier, a little girl (maybe 9?) smiled and told me I was pretty and she liked my makeup.  I told her thank you, that it was very sweet of her to say, and that I liked her top and that unicorns were my favorite (they're not, but you know).  The smile on her little face after that just completely melted me.

  • It may be old news to some of you, but I just found out that this exists...

    ”Titanic: the Legend Goes on”

From the year 2000, a Disney-style animated movie with both human and talking animal characters... about the sinking of the Titanic. It is... boy... it is somethin’ else.

Oh... and there’s a rapping dog.

  • Filed under one of the weirdest scenes to that I have imagined apparently happened next door in a tuxedo shop that my boss just told me about.

The Man Trout and The Dude (Duder, His Dudeness, El Duderino if you're not into the whole brevity thing) were in the shop to help the owner move. Apparently aside from owning some of these shops he's also a designer of some note, and apparently with some pretty iconic friends. I'm sure it wasn't what was happening, but I picture the two of them hauling displays onto a truck or something. On one hand I'm super pissed that I didn't see this with my own eyes, but I'm choosing to be joyfully confused that it even happened. Weird.

House keeping and maintenance at deer camp. Usually just me and my Dad but I brought the fam and my dad forgot the varmint cage so we’re out here again today just me and him. Can’t let an old man out here alone in the heat.  So I’m out here again with my steel toe shitkickers on making sure this ice cold Fireman 4 is being attended to, and offering moral support and supervision. We’re gonna hit up a local church picnic to pick up a chicken plate.  New feeder has a fancy corn window. I wonder what the poor people are doing today.

  • These last couple months haven’t been good but right now what’s making my day is xanax, MythBusters and texting with a old friend that moved out of state and is dealing with very similar problems. It’s good to vent with someone who understands.

It’s also good to catch up with you all and read what’s making your days better.

Lastly I dodged a big bullet by picking up some important supplies today instead of waiting until tomorrow which was the plan. Somehow I talked myself into doing it today and I saw they had signs up they would be closed tomorrow. That would’ve really bad and would’ve ruined tomorrow for sure.

  • I've been trying to do more drawing and painting and what not lately. It's been really fun. I'm terrible, but it's just fun to start with a blank slate and turn it into something. It's a good outlet to just throw myself into. Anyhoo, I made this over the weekend and (in the scope of being something that I made) I think it's pretty cool.
