So.....damn...thoughts? 

I think it was a parody but very poor taste and decision. Not sure rick and morty should be cancelled though. Especially since it’s one of the most thought provoking shows on TV regarding morality and ethics. If anyone is unaware of this just Google Dan Harmon Daryl video. It will be the first to come up in news

    This is old news.  I think he's been cancelled at least twice for this video already.  It's comedy.  Comedy should be allowed to be transgressive.  It's not particularly good comedy, which is why I think it's particularly jarring to see.  It lands solely in the edgelord territory that I think as a society we have been moving away from for a while.  It's tasteless and criminally unfunny, but there is no way Dan Harmon or Rick and Morty should be cancelled over it.  

    I believe this was brought up in the previous Dan Harmon thread, and maybe in the Chris Hardwick thread too.

    Oh is this the pedophile "joke" thing? It's old news at this point and also pretty clearly to me just an awful attempt at humor not actual malice. His "relationship" (for lack of a better word) with a writer on a show of his (community I think) was so much worse.

    Trying so hard to think of someone who would find it funny.  The only type of person I can think of is someone I definitely don’t care to know or associate with.

    I don't think Rick and Morty should be canceled over it. Let's check back in on 2022 and see if our opinion has changed. Nothing then? Maybe 2024 will be it.

    It was from like the mid-to-late 00's, right? That was like, peak "if it's edgy it's automatically funny." Turns out almost none of it was funny.

    I’m not a fan of Dan Harmon.  I never got into Community, don’t listen to Harmontown and, aside from a couple decent episodes, thought that this last season of Rick & Morty was kinda hot garbage.

    That said, I find the current outrage over this to be completely nonsensical and utterly pathetic — especially considering everything else going on in the world right now.

    This might be way its resurfacing again:

    So yea, I would not take this new round of calling for cancellation seriously.
