I think they've said it would be on a show by show basis, but that Loki is the one that they have the most interest in, so I'd guess it will be getting weekly OTC coverage.
This profile of the Loki head writer by Joanna Robinson is getting me more excited for the show - he was a writer on Rick & Morty and won an Emmy for it. And he's a Leftovers fan! Fiege is impressed with him - he put him on the Dr. Strange sequel and his upcoming Star Wars project.
Joanna also interviews him on her podcast Still Watching if you prefer to listen. His path to Marvel is so interesting and I’m beyond excited for this show. I will be in NY with my family (who I haven’t seen since before Covid) for 3 weeks and I let my boyfriend know I will be watching it as it airs and not waiting to get back home so we can watch it together. This is a first. I guess Loki is my cinematic hall pass
I just listened to the This Week on Bald Move podcast for this week. Who is going to break it to A.Ron and Jim that Loki is being released on Wednesday?
Shit, when did they move it up? We just pinned the date like 2 months ago. Ah well, it won't make much difference. We'll either get it out Wednesday night or do a more polished one Thurs/Fri I imagine.
There was an ad campaign a few weeks (I think?) ago where Loki was being his usual tricky self and instead of premiering on Saturday Friday like all the other Marvel TV shows he's gonna be so tricky and premier on a Wednesday instead!
Edit - apparently they usually premier on Friday, not Saturday.
I've heard some rumors (just RUMORS, I don't know anything for sure) that they are doing a bait and switch and Loki will gender flip (literally . . . he has before in the comics and the actual Norse myths) and Hiddleston won't really appear that much in the series.
If true, that takes a lot of the steam out of the show for me. Hopefully this isn't true and it appears in most of the show.

Speculation (no leaks or anything, based on comics lore) from Joanna Robinson's podcast is that he'll encounter multiple versions of himself from different timelines, including female Loki and kid Loki. I would be surprised if Disney was going to have minimum Hiddleston in this.
That's a pretty hard bait and switch. I'm all for Femme Loki but TH has been the face of this thing in the marketing so they'd be asking for people to be pissed off. Hell I'd be pissed off and again, I'd love to see a gender bent Loki, in season 2, after I get me some Hiddleston.
Felt a little emotionally light at the beginning but it seems that was just for contrast with the end of the episode. And so far the rumor is quite wrong about not much Hiddleston. Also nice to see a Lovecraft Country alumni. Also also it seems this show will touch on Doctor Strange 2 material.
Great first episode! I was all about this show after the trailers but what they showed in this first episode has me completely bought in. Especially the slight little twist towards the end.
Ive been waiting for Marvel to finally start getting into this wild, galaxy brain high-concept shit that spawned out of the old guard Marvel writers and editors after taking multiple shroom retreats back in the 70s.
Just like they used the Thor and Guardians movies to introduce us to the cosmic Star-Warsy part of the Marvel lore, they’re slowly starting to introduce the more mind-bending concepts like time and the multiverse and pocket dimensions and immortal cosmic entities with stuff like Doctor Strange, Loki, and Eternals.
Here’s hoping all this stuff sticks with audiences too, because I want to live in a world where all the normies have to reconcile with things like The Council of Reeds, The Living Tribunal, The Beyonder, One Above All, Eternity, Lord Chaos and Master Order and all that wacky far-out bullshit.
Now we just need the supernatural stuff to be introduced and we’ll pretty much have all the bases covered.
Loki has never been my favorite MCU character but the first episode was pretty good. Really curious how all this fits into the larger picture but I'm sure we'll find out.
I was fully expecting not to like this. Like, what are they doing trying to center on this C-list Marvel character? We have Disney+ so we’ll watch it, but I was so nonplussed initially that I didn’t even know it was a series. I thought they were doing a movie. So I was confused that Jim and A.Ron already watched it and were recording a podcast on it as soon as yesterday.
Boy was I wrong. This is great. I’m a big Owen Wilson fan but I thought he would probably just be a minor character. Wrong! So they’re really gonna Pancho & Lefty this whole thing with Loki and Owen Wilson. Man I’m here for it. All the little digs from Owen Wilson’s character as he’s breaking down Loki were delicious. Owen at his best. I think that “talkie talkie” bit with his hand was a little nod to Zoolander when he did “hello…heh heh hello”. Haha his name is really Mobius M. Mobius? Because of course it is.
I think the turning point for me where I thought ‘wow they’re really swinging for something new / this could be special’ was when they went full ass Fantastic Planet with that psychedelic animation sequence explaining the TVA. Will definitely be staying tuned.
I was already intrigued by the show because Loki has easily been a top 5 villain in the MCU ever since he first showed up in Thor. Tom Hiddleston is great, I don't hate Owen Wilson but I also wouldn't say I'm a huge fan either, he seems to fit the role he's playing very well though. I'd be in regardless but this is definitely a show I'm looking forward to seeing what happens next week. That animated video about the TVA was great.
Quite a while back, Jim recommended the book Recursion. I just finished it on Tuesday. Watching Loki the next day I noticed there were a lot of similarities, though very different tones. I was not expecting that! (Edit: The book was great, so thanks for the rec Jim!)
i dug the first ep. I feel like i haven't seen Owen Wilson in forever. i was hoping we'd get a good ole fashion Owen Wilson "Come on". sure enough we got a couple, so I can't complain

Love me some Owen Wilson. I need to do a rewatch of some of his classics ... Bottle Rocket, Tenenbaums, Zoolander.
Melissa Villaseñor is really talented with impressions but she really nails Owen Wilson. So good. I love Owen Wilson so all in good fun. https://youtu.be/VdCsbcx_loI
listened to the cast yesterday, and really enjoyed it. loved that Aron pointed out Pillboi from the Good Place, it was the first thing i noticed when i saw him show up.
btw - i've been doing a not very good Owen Wilson impression for years. i need to blow the dust off that bad boy now that he's back on the map.
A bit disappointed with the second episode, to be honest. "Our" Loki's actions saved the kidnapped time cop who has/will shed some light on some aspect of the plan and then our Loki jumped after Lady Loki (or Sylvie). Her destructive plan otherwise went off OK.
I hope this isn't like Raiders of the Lost Ark where the main character's actions don't matter and we're spending 6 hours watching the Multiverse of Madness being created for Doctor Strange 2.
Also found the dialogue between Loki and Mobius about Loki a little bald, directly stating things better dialogue would imply.
Maybe it’s cuz Tom Huddleston and Owen Wilson are bigger names and they are aiming for a larger audience but I dug the second episode. Outside of the reveal of the villain (not sure who that is) me and my son were able to follow along and enjoy Tom and Owen.
I'm watching it with my partner who liked Ragnarok, but refused to watch any of the other MCU films. She's all in on this series though as they have done a great job in catching people up who never watched endgame. The first episode did so much heavy lifting, but thats turned out great, so good job showrunners!

Loved the DB Cooper reference.
