20 Million Downloads Q&A Extravaganza

Hey, I keep forgetting to create this thread, after having promised it for weeks.  But, we recently turned 20 million podcasts served on the old bandwidth odometer, which seemed a cause for celebration.  As we usually do, we mark the occasion by turning the microphones over to use, our listeners.  Have a burning question you want to ask us?  Have a topic you'd like to hear us discuss?  This is your opportunity.  Either post in this thread below, or email it to qa@baldmove.com if you'd like.

To get an idea of how this works, you can see our about page if you'd like to see previous Q&A videos or other places we've answered questions before.

Have you ever cried during sex?

Super huge congrats on the 20 Mil accomplishment. That's fuckin awesome guys! So soon after the 10. I'm really glad to see you guys take off like this. You're the best there is and you totally deserve it.
  • Congrats on the 20 mil mark. This must mean you guys are averaging close to 1 million downloads per month!!?!! Wow.

It wouldn't be a Q&A Extravaganza without me asking, "Where the fuck is the Bald Move Super Deluxe Edition Cast for The Wire?"

    I'll never stop asking...

Sorry I know it's not really a Q&A extravaganza question related... but where is this interview of the Mad Men insider (can't remember if it was a writer, producer or else) that you talked about at the end of your coverage?
  • No cool questions come to mind, so I'll just join @hypergenesb in asking when the fuck the Wire cast is happening. Maybe if enough of us keep asking, it'll happen one day. Seriously, congrats on 20 million though, you guys earned it.
  • Has there been any new discussion on how to do podcasts of new shows? I know you can't do every show, but I think you guys have missed out on a couple that really should have been done.
  • I'm pretty sure I've never heard you guys answer this one:

What are your top five all time favorite TV shows, not including current TV shows?

    There's only 3 questions:

How many walkers have you killed?

How many people have you killed?

  • Do you have any idea what the demographics of the BM audience looks like? Is there a demographic you target? Would you like to attract more of any type of market?

I asked this in a Cocktails thread and I don't remember it getting answered (but if it was answered, feel free to just kick me in the shins and ignore this), what are some of the arguments or disagreements you guys have got into. Were they about Bald Move? Did they effect Bald Move? Are there topics you guys just avoid talking about on the air because it brings up bad blood?
  • Have you considered a raffle, ($1 per entry - 6 for $5), winner gets a plus one invite to the wedding?
  • Garthgou81Garthgou81 Placerville, CA
Jim, since you own stock in Chipotle, can I assume that they will be catering the wedding?

If there was a group of 10 year olds out to kill you, how many of them do you think you could fend off before being overrun? And no weapons.

Really proud of you guys and proud to be a part of this amazing community that's grown around you. My only question is are you guys any closer to doing a podcast for The Wire, are you still planning on it or is that project, for lack of a better word, dead?

Congrats guys on the 20 Mil Downloads. The Bald Move Train Just keeps on Gaining more and more steam!
i'm going to double down on this as usual. Now it's time to turn up the heat at Bald Move. My Question is: What was your first experience watching porn growing up? I heard both of you at various Lunch's or Cocktail hint around it or briefly mention it, but have never gone into any detail. I have to imagine with both of your JW backgrounds it should make for a good story. 2nd What was your experience going to your first Strip club? and on that topic A.Ron when do the Select club members get invites to the A.Ron Bachelor Party? Congrats again! Here's to 20 Mil More DL for Bald Move!
  • Amazing what you two have accomplished and how much you continue to grow. :) My question is, if there were a fantasy football-style draft with the cast of Game of Thrones, who would you pick for your teams and why?

Congrats on 20 mil - keep it going! The sky's the limit!

    Hi Jim and A.Ron,

Long time listener, first time caller...

I have two questions, one professional, one personal:

    1) While I love your podcasts (obviously), I must say my favorite stuff you've done has been your play throughs of the Telltale Games as "Bad Guy XXX". I'm sure you'll continue to do the Walking Dead and Game of Thrones ones, but have you considered doing any of the other franchises? (CSI, Law & Order, Back to the Future?)

    2) Being a romantic, I love hearing "how we met" stories...how did each of you meet your significant others?

Thanks! I'll take my answer off the air. :-)
  • From the TV shows that you've covered this year (and if you had to choose with a gun to your head): which main character would you prefer to be?

Note: I don't mean as the actor playing the character, but for realsies.

And which main character would you definitely NOT want to be?

If you could have Telltale make a game, what movie/book/show universe would you pick for them to use? Doesn't have to be a realistic request; it can be as far fetched as you like. "Tales from the Jersey Shore" or "The Wire: Bubbles" are perfectly acceptable answers.
  • If you had a choose a dream job outside of podcasting what would it be?
  • Congrats!

    1. What do you guys think of Elon Musk's new plan to send people to Mars in 6 years?
    2. If money and time were not issues, what would be your dream vacation?
    3. Do you guys still go to PAX?

Congratulations on 20,000,000+ downloads! That's super cool!

Look, I know this is trite but I feel like you don't really know a person until you get to the bottom of it:

Cake or pie? And what is your favorite?

(There is one right answer and then there is also cake)

Ha! I love it, although my question is always cake or cookies.

Do you guys refer to each other by your Bald Move names when the microphones are off?
  • MurderbearMurderbear Cold Spring, Ky
When did you guys decide to go with the cult leader names? Such a good idea!

    1. What are your absolute hard no's regarding TV? Like is there anything that would make you not want to cover a show even if it were to guarantee you a staggering amount of downloads every week?

    2. What are your favourite music albums of all time?

    3. Do either of you guys collect anything? Comics? Baseball cards? Specific merch or toys?

    4. Did Adnan do it? ;-)
  • Have you guys noticed a difference in your podcasting approach since last year? To me Jim has really opened up, particularly on the H&CF and Mr. Robot podcasts.

If you were to put your co-host's personality in your significant other's body, would you stay with them?

  • I'm always interested in the daily routines of folks who produce creative content (writing, films, podcasts). What sort of daily routines or rituals do you guys repeat that works for your creative processes or menial tasks?
