Thank you HBO for keeping European actors employed.

Can't think of another show that has this many Europeans on the payroll. Apart from the abundance of Welsh, Scottish, British and Irish actors, here's a little list I put together:

Sibel Kekilli (Shae) - German former porn actress.
Tom Wlaschiha (Jaqen H'ghar) - German.
Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jaime Lannister) - Danish.
Carice van Houten (Melisandre) - Most popular Dutch actress at the moment.
Michiel Huisman (Daario Naharis) - Dutch legend.
Kristofer Hivju (Tormunds Giantsbane) - Norwegian.
Amrita Acharia (Irri) - Ukrainian.

They also have some actors from other countries like Russia, Chile and Brazil and some from the Middle-East.

As a Dutchman it's been a lot of fun recognizing two of our best and most famous actors (Carice van Houten and Michiel Huisman) and watch them shine is such awesome roles! Most of the others were also familiar from European film but I had to look them up to know where I recognized them from.

True man, same is true of British actors, also Europeans of course. I mean look at the shit the hound was doing before GOT.

Special shout for my man Stringer Bell - Idris Elba too

@FlashGordon Haha sexy! Yeah I purposefully left the Brits/Irish/Scottish/Welsh off my list because that's over half the total cast ;)

It is a huge production.  According to the documentary linked below, Season 5 was shot in five countries on 151 sets with 166 cast members, 1,000 crew members, and more than 5,000 extras.
