  • Turns out Chris Hardwick is a POS

I've only seen him once, over a period of 3 hours, on a guest role with Critical Role (Dungeons & Dragons show). He was an attention whore. I didn't get a good impression of him at all.

And I'm not just saying this after the fact, lol, I could probably dig up reddit comments where I said the same.

    (I’m teasing btw)

Ah, the old “she’s a crazy lying slut” defence. Sure, sure.

I wasn’t going to bother with this, because The Karate Kid is probably the one iconic 80s movie that I wasn’t THAT into. Like, it was fine at the time, and I’ve seen it on TV a couple of times since, but it’s not one I’ve gone out of my way to watch again.

However, after hearing Pop Culture Happy Hour talk about it I was curious enough to check it out, and I was pretty much instantly hooked. I watched eight episodes yesterday/last night, and the final two this morning.

I really liked how they played it straight - it had some funny moments but there weren’t too many meta fan service jokes, which can get irritating. I also liked the way we saw the original story from Johnny’s POV with the flashbacks.

I feel like this could become a sleeper hit - it’s been out for six weeks or so and I’ve been hearing more and more people talk about it in the last couple of weeks. The “have you seen it” chatter has a Stranger Things vibe about it.
