  • Harlots - SPOILERS

I'm just trying to focus on what is still positive about this show:

William North taking a stand against the kidnapping taking place at the hands of Lord Leadsom.  'Pa' is a good man to his core and I always love seeing him stand up for what's right, even if it means telling off Margaret or setting Lucy straight.

Fanny coming into her own as the bawd of the Greek Street house.  She seemed like the natural to take over for Margaret and Charlotte.  Plus she's feisty and can hold her own, even while raising a toddler.

Nancy Birch.  Nancy f'ing Birch.  This woman has been *through* it and still manages to maintain dignity and strength, even when it seems she's falling apart.  Watching her belt the Marquess of Blayne across the face gave me such incredible joy, although I almost worry that it'll have consequences.  I'm intrigued to see where they take this budding/possible relationship between her and Isabella.  I'm ready for them both to have a big win.

Lydia Quigley's character development.  Stay with me here.  Now, we all know she's ruthless and vile and a horrible woman who only has her self-interest at heart.  However, we started to see glimpses of a tiiiiiiiiny bit of caring and we did learn what made her the way she is - she told us as much when she was watching Mrs. May choke to death, and she told Kate of her heartbreaking life with her father.  I truly think she did care for Charlotte as her own daughter and Margaret as well.  And deep down she loves her son and I think she did care for Kate.  I think it's just so easy for her to let the hate and greed inside of her rule vs. letting in anything that might cause her to show vulnerability or emotion.  That way she's not hurt again.   This all said, she is still the most evil woman on the show.

The drama and suspense.  This show has never been short on suspense with its characters, and that's definitely true now.  This thing with Emily and Hal is going to hit a boiling point and I'm almost scared to see what happens.  Will Emily be a victim to it?  Will Hal be captured for the murder of Charlotte?  Will he be successful in secretly taking over Harriett's house?  And what about Rosamund and her bribery of Emily?   Also, Elizabeth and Fredo.  I'm really scared for Fredo's and Croft's fates, especially now that Lydia knows their secret.  And I'm liking Elizabeth less and less.  I'm ready to see her in debtor's jail and Lucy freed.

I think the season finale is going to be off the hook.  And I definitely don't think it's the final season.  Remember, lots of actors film other things/take other jobs when their main show is not filming.

Hi guys, maybe you can help. I made my wife a mix a while back and she's looking for more another one that expands on a certain section of it that isn't a terribly deep well for me. The songs that she mentioned really liking were:

    Massive Attack - Angel
    Sufjan Stevens - I Walked
PJ Harvey - Down By the Water

All of those songs have that sort of beat driven, kind of electronic, dark with strong vocal kind of through line. Bjork and Portishead come right to mind. I also grabbed an Alessia Cara tune and a Glasser song. Do you guys know any songs or artists in that vain that you would recommend? Thanks!
My first thought when I started reading this was 'Portishead' but then you mentioned them, so... hmm.
If she's into trip hop, I'd suggest:

    Hooverphonic - Mad About You
    Hooverphonic - 2Wicky
    Hooverphonic - Inhaler
    Hooverphonic - Wardrope
    Hooverphonic - Barabas
(that whole "A New Stereophonic Sound Spectacular" album is *so good*)

    Thievery Corporation - Lebanese Blonde
Thievery Corporation - Un Simple Histoire (Rewound by Voidd) (get this mix - don't go for the original - it's too slow)

When someone who is all pissed and starts to resort to calling you names, acts like a 5 year old then proceeds to call you a snowflake when the entire time your responses have been cordial, respectful and handled like an actual adult....

“u can go fuck urself for even thinking that....and its hella sad that bcuz we dont agree u think ur above me dont say u dont bcuz u clearly do..

U have a twig up ur snowflake ass....u should remove it”

note: I never even implied or said I was better than this person. I simply disagreed with their stance on guns...
The fact that they're using text misspellings on purpose ('bcuz', 'urself') is enough to annoy me about them (a pet peeve of mine - seriously, it takes all of 1-2 seconds longer to type out the actual word correctly), but I do agree with you.  It seems like they have quite the issue, and actually might be intent on starting an argument.  When it comes to those types of people, I just walk away (literally or figuratively, depending on the situation).
