The far right loves to couch extremist rhetoric in soft sounding tones and imagery so at first glance they don't seem dangerous. It's all plausible deniability, like "we're just a fun social and drinking club" which helps both recruitment because it isn't as scary and to obfuscate what they're actually doing. Like you see all the Pepe the frog shit and a lot of the far right including Qanon people refer to each other as "fren" and "frens" as a baby talk way of saying friend. People instinctively know things like "Atomwaffen" or whatever are probably militant and bad. Imagine if the Proud Boys were called some scary Nordic or German sounding name, the national conversation including the president mentioning them specifically would have been very different. It's worth remembering the way people get recruited into something like this. It's (mostly) not a bunch of already radicalized people who were just lying around waiting to pick up guns, they get introduced with much softer rhetoric and are slowly introduced to extremist bullshit. It's part of why memes are such an effective tool for them.
Got the PS5 shipped yesterday and played through all of Astro's Playroom in one sitting. That game is charming as hell and I love all the random Playstation accessories and how detailed they modeled all of it. I never had a PS4 and there's a big collection on PS Plus so I'm sort of overwhelmed by options. I'm also 40 hours into Assassins Creed on PC but that thing feels like old news now.

AOC said she had a close encounter and thought she was going to die and there are a few extremely worrying details like why were all the panic buttons taken out of Ayanna Pressley's office? It could be nothing but like... I'm assuming panic buttons aren't routinely removed from high profile politicians offices while they're being targeted by violent rhetoric without any notice or obvious reason? WTF happened hereFrom https://www.bostonglobe.com/2021/01/13/nation/it-was-like-looking-evil-capitol-attack-through-eyes-massachusetts-delegation/
As people rushed out of other buildings on the Capitol grounds, staffers in Pressley’s office barricaded the entrance with furniture and water jugs that had piled up during the pandemic. Groh pulled out gas masks and looked for the special panic buttons in the office.
“Every panic button in my office had been torn out — the whole unit,” she said, though they could come up with no rationale as to why. She had used them before and hadn’t switched offices since then. As they were escorted to several different secure locations, Groh and Pressley and her husband tried to remain calm and vigilant — not only of rioters but of officers they did not know or trust, she said.
