  • Walking Dead - 701: "The Day Will Come When You Won't Be"

It's disappointing to see so many people not like the monologuing. Those scenes with Negan are what kept me interested in the show when I was losing patience. I thought it drove the point home how this wasn't going to be a win for the gang. Rick thought he could still huff and puff even after losing two of his friends, but Negan had to "shut that shit down". You need to believe in the charisma of Negan if you want to believe him to be the type of leader that he is, and I pretty much believe it. Oh well, difference of opinions and such.

I'm still not sure what this show is going for. Don't get me wrong, I've enjoyed watching it and am looking forward to it each week, but I'm not really sure what the show is about. At first I thought it was a mystery about who did it, with them giving possible suspects and potential alibis. Then I figured it was an indictment of the entire criminal system with a bit of gross foot porn thrown in. Now I think it's about the journey of Nas, and how he's gone from the person his parents want him to be, to the person that he sees himself as. That person just happens to be a violent, drug abusing tough guy. If that's the case, I just don't see much purpose Box or Jack, considering both have been given ample screen time and back stories.

It is interesting that Mr Robot can make Elliot see a different reality when the actual reality might be too much for him. Basically what the whole prison/hospital theroy is. I also thought it was interesting to see Elliot incorporate the tv show that is on in the background, similar to what I suspect is happening with Leon and the Seinfeld breakdowns.

The Phantom Menace. I wanted to like it so much, and then was mightily letdown.
  • Episode 201 & 202 - "unm4sk-pt1.tc" & "unm4sk-pt2.tc"

I feel pretty confident that the Seinfeld bro wasn't real, but most of everything else just falls into the "maybe" pile. I was a little disappointed in the lack of anarchy that I was expecting from last year, but I guess that's part of the point. I'm also really tired of Joanna's masochism and hope it isn't brought up much. I'm sure it's a major part of her character, I just don't find it interesting to see her get beat up by choice all season. This is a fantastic show, though, and I already can't wait for the next episode.
