I really want the guys to do a John Hughes or Brat Pack-sequel marathon for the next Groundhog Day charity thing.  There are enough movies to make it happen!

You and I would love that but I think Jim would rather be tarred and feathered.

I’m interested to know what the assignment was that you used it for, though, @DrCynPiz

(Also, I never thought about it before but I saw a chunk of it not that long ago on TV and it is really glaring now how white and heteronormative it is. It made me think about how much I’ve evolved from my own bubble because I have seen it a bunch of times over the decades and that has literally never entered my mind before.)
Hi Dee - I love that you mentioned how heteronormative it is.  That was such an interesting discussion in class. One of the assignment questions addressed the 'whiteness' of the group and asked what would be different if there were ethnic diversity.  Another asked about gender roles and assumptions.  There were also a bunch of questions about group membership, purpose, insights gained by members, group process (how members exhibit empathy, assign roles like scapegoat, achieve's cohesion and the moment they achieve it), what the students think is going to happen on Monday.

Hey I wasn't paying attention at the end of the watch party last night....Will the on-air Secret Santas that weren't chosen last night be added to the pool for next Wednesday?   Just wanted to know if I should still wait to open my gift...

For the life of me, I can't understand all of the negativity around this show - I'll concede that there are problem (as it always the case with ST), but as a TNG fan I find myself consistently entertained.

Case in point: Ep 7 "Nepenthe" - It was just a delight to see the old crew back together again - I felt that the writing was excellent and performances gripped me. I found myself surprised by how sad I was over the loss of Thad, a character who we've never actually met.  The writers really did a wonderful job of introducing him to us and the subtleties in the dialogue were masterful IMO.

I've also got to say that I really enjoy the new music theme to the show.  It reminds me of "The Inner Light" and I believe it is just the kind of music Picard would love.  I know JIm and A_Ron think it is unmemorable, but I have the tune stuck in my head.

Just watched ep 6 The Impossible Box. Best one yet. And justification for all of the annoying transparent video screens @A_Ron_Hubbard @Jim
