This looks like  version 1 robot from Westworld.  They also had robotic birds and butterflies on display

If you go through YouTube there are a TON of videos about lifelike robots (especially from Japan). With the show I'm sure interest will pick up, but with some of the stuff I've seen, we are not far at all really. What will prevent Westworld from being a realty is "us". We already have companies putting kill switches into their AI development in case it becomes self aware.
