haha @JoshuaHeter - i had to look it up. i got all stoked for a minute thinking you were serious. damn you Omaha Josh, messing with my good bad movie emotions!
Ya know, I am a huge King fan. But The Stand has never been one of my favorites. I am an outlier in that regard. The first 50 pages or so was always the most interesting to me because it was all about how the virus was spread and the collapse of things. 15-year-old me ate that up. It is not fun in real life.
i remember watching the 90's miniseries when i was a freshman in high school and digging it till the stupid ending.
i've never read the book but i remember it being sold in some random commercial that i always found odd. it was like selling the book as well as joining some kind of Stephen King book club:

I’m the same - I’ve been devouring his novels for 40 years and that’s one of my least favourites. We can form a little support group in the corner.
The year isn’t over yet. Maybe 2020 can still be redeemed...
Because this went so well the first time.
And technically shouldn't this be in the TV thread? All these new channels are simply producing 2020-style made for TV movies. I realize the line is blurred.

I don't think the streaming services are really just TV though, they're a platform for both shows and movies.
This looks awesome. Definitely added to my list of priorities to check out once it releases. Also excited it's a series and not just a movie. I feel like this benefits a lot from being a series versus a movie.
This is almost too close to John Wick, especially being from the same producers. He even pulls out a hidden box of gold bars, is this an in universe spinoff? Either way, I will for sure see any movie that has Bob Odenkirk shouting give me back the kitty cat bracelet while murdering a room full of people.
What in the hell kind of movie is this going to be with this cast...Anya Taylor-Joy, De Niro, Mike Myers, Timothy Olyphant, Chris Rock, Christian Bale, Margot Robbie, John David Washington, Rami Malek, Zoe Saldana.
As reported by Deadline, new to the cast of the multi-Oscar-nominated director’s latest film are Anya Taylor-Joy, Robert De Niro, Mike Myers, Timothy Olyphant, Michael Shannon, Chris Rock, Andrea Riseborough, Matthias Schoenaerts, and Alessandro Nivola. For the New Regency-helmed feature, they’re joining the previously announced cast members Christian Bale, Margot Robbie, John David Washington, Rami Malek, and Zoe Saldana.
Woah Noah Baumbach is slated to direct a film adaptation of Don DeLillo's "White Noise," with a Adam Driver and Greta Gerwig to star. I read the book like 15 years ago so but from what I remember this would be a tough one to make into a movie, but I'd definitely be interested in that they can do with it!
