I'm assuming this is the same Kong as Skull Island? I see crossover characters from the last Godzilla movie (which I haven't seen), but I didn't notice any Skull Island crossover characters other than Kong.

I could be wrong but wasn’t Skull Island set during the Vietnam war? Maybe they’re all dead? Or surely too old to use same actors. Can’t really remember who made it out at the end.

That was my first thought as well but clearly it's not going to go nearly as far as they went with Joker. It is after all a Disney film and I would assume this we'll likely come with a PG or maybe a PG13 rating. They had me at Emma Stone.

Phew, that’s looks really bad. And her accent is a choice.
  • It's been a really long time since I saw 101 Dalmatians but wasn't her whole thing skinning dogs?

That is how I remember it. The Dalmatian shawls and coats and such.

I’d make fun of you but I only realised a few weeks ago that Joe Hill’s book NOS4A2 is pronounced Nosferatu.

What about the Cruel-la connection? Because I am not sure I made either that connection or the one you just mentioned until this very moment.

I can only assume the scenes of her viciously murdering dalmatians doesn't go over well in test screenings.

This actually looks dope. And they definitely play the old song at the end with some updated tunage.

  • It kind gives off modern DC movie vibes. Hopefully it'll be more fun than that. MK has to walk a fine line between taking itself seriously enough while knowing it's a bunch of crazy bullshit that basically can't be taken too far.

I continue to be baffled by how or which of the DC movies fit together.

  • I think this is a soft reboot. But honestly I don’t care cuz it looks like a lot of fun

You are in good company because DC is baffled by that same thing.

  • DC makes absolutely zero sense from a continuity standpoint but The Suicide Squad looks like a hell of a lot of fun.

DC has a real opportunity to zig Marvel's zag by offering filmmaker's the opportunity to make stand-alone movies with their characters in an Elseworlds like setting. Joker is a great example. Marvel has painted themselves into a corner a bit, but if DC really leans into giving creative freedom to directors, we could see some amazing stuff.

  • It would be epic to get like 3 really good Batman takes. Like Arkham, 2099 and normal.
  • Fleabag will be in the new Indy movie! And we have a date in 2022 and John Williams score...

Granted I have never seen a Fast & Furious movie...but good god. Is that what they are all like? Or has it just be a steady ramp-up of preposterous action?

The last several movies have consistently upped the bar on the preposterous action scale.  They are 100% turn off your brain and just enjoy the ride kind of movies.
