That batmobile is out of control. I love it. I've been looking forward to this one for a while (and will have to for a while still, since we are talking about another 4-5 months), but the first part of the trailer didn't do a huge amount for me. Not that I didn't like it, it just didn't show me much unexpected or new. But that ending to the trailer was some exciting, dark stuff.
Nobody should ever make another trailer again. We’ve reached the pinnacle.
Zoë Kravitz serving god-tier looks as Selina is everything I ever wanted. She was my fan-cast years ago when they were first knocking around the idea of rebooting, so when they announced her I was so stoked.
This looks like the very young, completely out of control Batman and I’m here for every minute of it.
The Batman seems well done, but doesn't it just seem like a variation on Nolan's take? Gritty, realistic and largely devoid of anything that feels too comic booky. No other superheroes and the villains are basically just the most realistic possible take on the source material and again we're more or less starting at the beginning. Penguin is just a guy in a suit. Riddler is visually just a guy who drops a ? logo here and there. Catwoman is a burglar with vaguely earlike features on her hood. I liked Nolan's movies a lot, but it seems like a retread of those.
Same feeling I have about cover versions of songs. If I want the same rhythm and instrumentation, I'll just listen to the original. Maybe I'm just starting to tire of the comic book stuff in general. I hope people enjoy it, and I'll probably get to it when it comes to HBO, just not very motivated based on what I've seen.
I do like Matt Reeves's past stuff, so maybe I'm being too hasty.
Skarsgård looks like an absolute animal in this. Knowing Eggers’ propensity for making everything as period accurate as possible, it’s no surprise that every village/set and all the clothing was put together by hand, much like he did for The Witch.
I’ve been looking forward to this trailer for years, and it didn’t disappoint.
