Karl Strand character and Roxy Music "Do the Strand"

Is there some connection between the character Strand and the choice of one of my fave Roxy Music songs, Do the Strand, that I am missing? It seems an odd coincidence. I got the obvious references in The Rolling Stones Play with Fire to the episode, but I don't see any clear connection with Do the Strand.

I just looked up the lyrics and I see no connection.  It seems like RM is describing more of a dance of some sort.
