@Michelle Did they do a throat swab too? We have that here as well as the nasal swab. I’m dreading ever having to get it as I gag really easily (sometimes when brushing my teeth, lol). I’d probably throw up all over the poor tester.
Anyway, fingers crossed for you - let us know your results!
No, just the nasal swab. My gag reflex isn't great either, so thank *gawd* there was no throat swab. And thanks, my sister from an Australian mister... I'll let you and everyone else know as soon as I hear.
My work just announced all people able to telecommute should continue til end of year. They won’t open office til October and you shouldn’t come in unless needed.
Wow. I’m not sure if I should be happy cuz I dreamed from working from home or scared because of the unknown..

I work for Target Corporate in Minnesota. My department has been working from home since early March and I'm really hoping they do something similar. My department hasn't lost a step in the transition to working from home so I'm crossing my fingers they push back going back to the office for at least another couple months.
Starting Monday they are allowing non-essential businesses to start opening up but with limited capacities and regulations but it scares me. I feel like a lot of people aren't taking this as seriously as they should. I won't be changing a damn thing. I do miss getting together with my main group of friends but in general they were the ones that would convince me to go out and do things and I'm perfectly content staying home and doing whatever.
Hope the test results come back negative Michelle and you're able to stay safe with your roomie. We all have our fingers crossed for you.
As far as I can tell my office has 0 plans for what to do if someone catches it. Still got 108 people in the office, still hiring more, and most of them just sitting right next to each other.
There might be a link between COVID-19 and a serious inflammatory illness in young children. Still to early and not enough data to make any conclusions, but I will say my wife is a pediatrician and they are following this very closely in her field right now:
TLDR: Turns out Gov. Election Fraud has been fudging the Covid numbers, at least three times, by just mixing and matching dates in the official reports.

I have no love for Kemp. He's a moron. On the bright side, he is at least wearing masks in most of the pictures in that video you linked.
What a relief for you, @Michelle, do you know how long your roomie has to stay isolated since she has it? I don’t even know how long it takes to go away and not be infectious anymore.

She tested on Tuesday the 5th, so her 10-day isolation started that day. She was cleared as of yesterday. I don't know how long it takes to go away. I would think it's case by case. She still needs to retest before returning to work (she works for the county and is an essential worker).
I'm going to keep working from home regardless. I can't wait to have the place to myself again!
glad all is good @Michelle! i bet it was one of the biggest sigh of reliefs ever!
Thank you I almost got a little teary out of relief when I read the results. I had just been one big ball of sleep-deprived stress all week. Now I can breathe.

I’m a super early waker and my peeps sleep in so I actually drove to Galveston on the Sea Wall this morning and watched the craziness. Its amplified right now. People are full tilt Memorial Day weekend.

(I just got the results about 10 minutes ago.)
Thank you to everyone for your support in what has been one of the most stressful weeks of my life!
Just saying.
