This has to be one of the most horrible gm moves of all time. For the gif just skip the redeem part as that’s not true

Bill O'Brien is the worst and is killing me.

Is the owner of the Texans completely checked out of this? Does he see the season end with them in the playoffs and be like well, good enough, and then never think about it again until the next season starts? It's not like you want to base your decision making on fan outrage but they would have to be aware of being seen as this much of a joke by the entire league
  • Yeah that's definitely a head scratcher.

The owner died 2 seasons ago and the wife and son took over. They're just letting Bill O'Brien run this thing into the ground.

I'm gonna tell my kids this was Gronk during his years in Tampa Bay

How did the Pats end up getting a 4th out of that? They had no leverage at all and he doesn't want to go anywhere else, you'd think Tampa would just put a 7th on the table and say take it or leave it and like maybe it eventually turns into a 6th. A 4th feels like a huge haul for free in a good draft like this.
  • powder blue and yellow go together really well. the 2nd from the left is my fav.

RE patriots. yea WTF. why do teams continue to help them. I am making a call that Patriots draft Fromm. feel like he's their type of guy.

Isn't the Pats leverage the whole "we are not obligated to trade you since you "retired" from us anyway and we played last season without you"?

Well he wasn't going to play for them, so isn't it like getting something for nothing?

Yes, the Patriots got a 4th rounder for a guy that wasn't going to play for them.  But still, Gronk was technically under a contract so if he wanted to come back, so I'd say the Patriots had control of the situation.  Gronk didn't play for them last season so they were already operating under the assumption that he wasn't going to play for them and they saw how life was without him.
  • That sounds like a BB move
  • Leave it to Belichick to trade a wrestler for a 4th round pick.

They didn't have to do anything but it would have been leaving a pick on the table for no reason if Tampa didn't bite on it. It's not like he got a Bill OBrien level deal but a 4th in a deep draft for nothing is a pretty nice get.

Despite the patriot's success with later round draft picks, I think the numbers say that anyone past round 3 is incredibly unlikely to stick as a starter in the NFL. Even 70% Gronk is probably leaps better than your average 4th rounder, and a 4th is not that different than a 7th (it's not remotely like trading a 1st for a 4th, or a 2nd for a 5th).
  • Philadelphia sports radio has already decided against the Eagles drafting a WR so that they inevitably rip Carson Wentz if the offense doesn't produce. Same story, different year

there's like a dozen 'good' WR's that could go in the first 2 rounds. i would be surprised if you guys don't end up with one of them.

Apparently Jerry has told his scouting department not to disturb him during the entire draft. I’m sure this will go great.  :|

Yes. I got a powder blue heart.  (Love ya blue!).  Texans can’t have a retro Oilers uniform cause of that bitch Amy Adams (Titan’s owner). She is my Carole Baskin.

I would love to see this. Every GM should be throwing ridiculous trades at him.

I'm so excited for this draft. It's dumb but I love the annual tradition of quickly developing extremely strong opinions on guys we know nothing about and then forgetting all of it once actual football starts.

you think your niners take one of those top 3 WR's if available at #13?

I was going to post this and offer my condolences but it seems you already heard.

The phones might go down in Dallas tonight with all the GMs trying to call Jerry all night.

I hope Belichick's call gets through.

Bears don't have a first rounder this year for the second year in a row. they do however have 2 second round picks. hoping they a TE. if available either Cole Kmet from Notre Dame or Brycen Hopkins from Purdue. or a Safety. if available Grant Delpit from LSU or Jeremy Chinn from Southern Illinois. if i had to guess they trade one of those second rounders for more picks.
