This has to be one of the most horrible gm moves of all time. For the gif just skip the redeem part as that’s not true

RE patriots. yea WTF. why do teams continue to help them. I am making a call that Patriots draft Fromm. feel like he's their type of guy.
Isn't the Pats leverage the whole "we are not obligated to trade you since you "retired" from us anyway and we played last season without you"?
Yes, the Patriots got a 4th rounder for a guy that wasn't going to play for them. But still, Gronk was technically under a contract so if he wanted to come back, so I'd say the Patriots had control of the situation. Gronk didn't play for them last season so they were already operating under the assumption that he wasn't going to play for them and they saw how life was without him.
They didn't have to do anything but it would have been leaving a pick on the table for no reason if Tampa didn't bite on it. It's not like he got a Bill OBrien level deal but a 4th in a deep draft for nothing is a pretty nice get.
I was going to post this and offer my condolences but it seems you already heard.
The phones might go down in Dallas tonight with all the GMs trying to call Jerry all night.
I hope Belichick's call gets through.
