Pace and Nagy are done. There will be billboards and boycotts. The bears thought 2020 was bad for revenue. I think they finally have officially lost their minds if they think bears fan will spend money on this broken record of a journeyman quarterback being hailed as some type of hero who will be awesome with Nagy’s “innovative” style of running laterally for 20 yards. And wow. They think so poorly of trubisky that these guys would rather put their jobs and careers on the line with Andy Fucking Dalton..
I don’t know what’s worse right now. Knowing Andy Dalton is our QB for 2021 or having to deal with fans who think the bears picked him up to trade him for another QB. Dude, this isn’t Madden Franchise.
if anything they trade Foles before Dalton. but who the hell wants Foles? Philly maybe to backup and mentor Hurts. the one positive thing about Dalton is that he had his best season under Bill Lazor (bears offensive coord). look, i don't mind having Dalton, but not as the starter. i just can't imagine Dalton is the answer if i'm a GM or HC on the hot seat.
Honest question, who were you guys expecting? It sounds like Watson and Wilson aren't available for now, so what else were they going to do? Personally I would have rather had Fitzmagic than Dalton but it's not that huge of a gap. There are so many QB desperate teams right now and the Rams kind of fucked up the only good option in trading for Stafford because they decided they don't value first round picks at all.
But Dalton is absolutely an upgrade over Foles or Trubs. Dalton was like, the definition of an average starting NFL QB his whole career. If he can be just average, that's an upgrade.
Plus, it's a one year deal. He's not the future. The bears picked too late to get a good QB in this draft, and there's not really anyone good in free agency or for trade if they couldn't get Watson or Wilson.
i mean, if no pipe dream like Watson or Wilson then i honestly would have preferred bringing back The Biscuit. esp over Dalton. say what you say about him but he knows the system, can make plays with his legs and has the respect of alot of the guys in the lockerroom. 2 playoff appearances the last 3 years with a record of 25-13 is a helluva lot better than they had several years prior to him.
I was talking to a packers fan yesterday and he was actually trying to console me. He said “at least your not a lions fan” and I instantly felt better... haha

Yeah I'm glad I'm not really a super invested fan in any sport. This way it can still be fun. If any of my happiness depended on a team I cheer for doing well, I wouldn't be very happy lol.
Edit - Also I can't believe that Pardon the Interruption is still on the air.
"Yes, the Bears threw everything they could at trying to acquire Russell Wilson. The Seahawks didn’t budge.
According to @dpshow, an offer was three first-round picks, a third and two starters."
Damn. Well they tried pretty damn hard, at least. I do wonder if at this point the Bears would be better served just taking a year to tank and get a QB, but that's a hard sell to fans and players.
Seattle would be nuts to trade Wilson unless he flat out refused to play for them anymore. Not even just the insane dead money cap hit for this year, that dude has carried that franchise since he came into the league. They're not finding another Russell with three first round picks. The only way it would make any sense at all is if they knew they could flip the assets for Deshaun and if that was the case then the bears should have just gone for him instead cause he's younger and probably better.
"This is a great signing by the Bears. They have let me know earlier than ever that my fall Sundays will be free. Some years it takes them till mid-October to do that."
This one legit made me lol. At least the bears fans throw they threw the kitchen sink at the Seahawks for Wilson and didn't just make a meager attempt at getting him.
This Deshaun stuff is ... concerning. Up to 9 accusations now apparently but only 3 suits have been filed so far. They're all civil suits but that is a looooooot of smoke for there to be no fire.

yeah man, not a good look. kinda came out of nowhere considering his current situation with the Texans. what a shit show in Houston.
of course Mariota is now available after the Bears commit to Dalton
edit: ......and now the bears are releasing their best CB, Kyle Fuller. it's almost like that Seinfeld episode where George was trying to get fired by the Yankees.
