    Whoa Fields to da bears!

Wtf were the broncos thinking, lol (unless they're figuring out how to get Rodgers).
Broncos traded earlier in the week for bridgewater

I don't think he's the long term qb solution in Denver. A step up from Lock, and if they get their defense going maybe that's enough. But Fields seems like he could be special.

i'm not high on Fields personally. there were a few games i watched of his last year and he was not very good. specifically when he played NW. plus I can't even think of a QB from OSU that was good in the NFL (wish I could say Mike Tomczak haha). Lawrence and Wilson i'm impressed with. and i don't know much about Lance other than he's an athletic kid with a big arm from a small school. it's been 22 years since QB's went 1-2-3 in the NFL draft.

i've never been much of a Fields guy, but one thing i will say is he can throw a mean deep ball. he was dropping some dimes in his pro day.
my Fields posts, but that pro day kinda got my attention. i know pro days is no pressure and in shorts, but damn he made almost all his throws and that deep ball on the run was pretty.
  • Oh damn Vikes traded to the jets ... so are the Pats gonna end up with Mac Jones? Bill is Saban's best bud. Hmmm

I'm pretty shocked the Pats got one of the top 5 QBs without having to trade up.

    Just as Belichick planned, haha.

i'm kinda rooting for him now that he's not a niner haha. dude has the funniest dorky laugh. and his no shirt pic kinda reminds me of the no shirt Brady pic when he got drafted.

It is a glorious morning. Everyone got the QB they were supposed to and there weren't very many dumb or head scratching picks in the first round other than maybe taking the RBs. Mac Daddy is fine at pick 15 without trading a bunch of assets to get there, I just really hated the idea of him with Fields and Lance on the board while also giving up a gigantic haul. He'll probably be really good for the Pats and all his MAGA bullshit probably flies a lot better in Boston.

The Rodgers thing is super interesting. On the PFF live show they were saying that they heard Rodgers to the Broncos for 3 1's was "as close to done as it gets" which might explain why they passed on Fields. There is a potential alternate universe where he goes to the niners for that price if they didn't trade it to 3, but I doubt they're eager to trade him to both his first choice and an in conference team with a recent history of beating them in the playoffs.

I don't know wtf was going on where Schefter was sure Mac was the pick at 3 but it worked out in the end and I believe them when they say this was the plan the whole time and they didn't tell anybody who they were picking. They've directly said in the past that leaks are a huge focus for them and they're happy to let rumors fly without correcting them as long as they aren't true. I'm still sending Shanahan my therapy bill for the month though.

    I am so happy.

    Horn, Surtain and Samuel.

3 DBs who’s fathers played. And that’s not even the full list of 2nd gen. That’s pretty crazy

hell yeah! i wanted the bears to draft Jenkins in the first round if they stayed at 20 and didn't trade up. they still were able to land him in the second round after trading up again. he's a stud OL.

Brett Kollman did a whole video on how Jenkins was the most violent dude in the draft but looks like this

Down to 1 device I can still log in to the forums on lol.

Anyway yeah! The Lions took the consensus best remaining player on the board? Is this....competence? I don't know what it feels like.

guess the Bears drafted pretty good..

  • As a fan of the WFT Im quite happy with their handling of free agency and the draft.

AFC East with 3 of the top 6 in these rankings ... Should be a very interesting season for the division.

I threw $100 at the Pats winning the division at +390 ... Bills are clearly the favorite and Miami is gonna be tough, but I figure it's worth being a homer and hoping Belichick and McDaniels figure something out this year.
  • All the Aaron Rodgers turmoil in Green Bay brings a smile to my face as a Vikings fan but I don't have much hope that he will actually be traded or retire/not show up.

The monday after the draft and Bears fans are happy, Lions fans are happy, Cleveland may have had the best draft of anyone, truly what is happening. Where did all the dumb teams go?

  • It's also 33 years between those two dates, which is roughly the amount of time it's been since the WFT has made it out of the divisional round of the playoffs.

    Yeah yeah, Lions fan, whatever.

Julio to the Titans.  that's an interesting landing spot considering the Falcons new head coach was the Titan's offensive coordinator last year (and part of the coaching staff since 2011). seems like a pretty good solid to me.

  • Both teams won. If Julio stays heathy. I’m glad the NFC got weaker

i guess TEN may take on the remaining 38M of his contact, which if that's the case the i'd say ATL got the better end. a couple of high draft picks, and 38M in cap space. they still have Ridley which is 6 years younger, and has played just as well the last few years. plus they also drafted Pitts who apparently can be a game changer. Jones to TEN is bit of an odd fit. they're a very run heavy offense and Tannehill is fine, but he's not exactly throwing darts out there.

Yeah TEN was run heavy but when they passed they were efficient - 4th in AY/A and 5th in QBR, and their best receiver was AJ Brown who had a 66% catch % and a 5% drop rate. I think adding a true number 1 was pretty important for them, which Julio will definitely be if he can stay healthy. So I think it was a great pick for both teams - TEN is clearly in win now mode and can afford Julio, while ATL isn't and can't. They didn't have the cap space to pay their draft class before this trade. And yeah, the cap is mostly made up and doesn't matter (see Saints, Rams), but even in that framework ATL was in rough shape.
  • bizmarkiefaderbizmarkiefader San Francisco
I have a really hard time viewing this as a win for ATL but the rumor is the reason he wanted out is because ATL was looking to trade him first, so apparently they were ready to move on. They weren't nearly as bad as their record last year and everything they've done except for this has suggested they're in win now mode, so losing the best player in franchise history for some picks and cap space seems like a move from a different timeline. I know they needed to clear space to sign their rookies but surely there was another way to accomplish that. I'm just glad he's not in the NFC West

hey @Hatorian - thoughts on the Bears purchasing that huge race track in Arlington Heights to potentially put a new mega stadium there?

  • The Stadium Paradox: NFL (and other sports league) franchises are so coveted that cities will bend over backwards to get or retain them. Yet, (allegedly) the product on the field isn’t good enough to draw a sufficient number fans to turn a profit unless those fans can watch the team from new, lavish, and expensive stadiums.

It’s almost as if a cabal of wealthy elites has artificially manufactured this ridiculous scenario for their own gain.

    Sincerely, a disgruntled St. Louisan

I feel bad for Bills fans and annoyed that Austin would even consider getting an NFL team. RIP the Austin of old, it had a great run but it seems to have transformed and will never be the same.

I have to worry about a lot of things as a Cowboys fan but the ONE thing I will never worry about is losing this team. At least not out of the metroplex. Going to Arlington sucks and but if there’s even a notion of the Cowboys leaving, the city would for sure go into a riot stage.
