IDK about Trent "Independent" Crimm; he seems fine in small doses. Does he have father issues to work through? Is he secretly Dani Rojas' father?
Roy & Keeley - Coach Beard and Jane can't have all the relationship drama.
Nate - I expect the Nate/club rivalry to be resolved before the end of s3. His "nothing's my fault" attitude will cause problems with the players/Rupert. I could see Nate's trajectory go either way (Nate's self hate causes him to self destruct or he gets help. Not everyone Ted touches has to return to Ted, though). If the rumors are true and there are only 3 seasons, they'll want to spend time on an uplifting ending for everyone, not some soccer game.
I kind of want Nate to spiral downward, though, just for the acting opportunities. Maybe he gets dropped by Rupert mid s3 because all the players turned against him and Rupert's racism breaks cover. Maybe Nate gets arrested for accosting Will in the street after they run into each other and Will slips another verbal dagger in. Could be fun watching Nate finally deal with his father and develop self worth somehow, maybe through therapy.
I started rewatching S2 today with my daughter, as she hasn’t seen it yet, and I’m finding this season much more enjoyable as a binge watch rather than week to week.
Sam and Rebecca. How has NO ONE had a problem with this? Not Keeley, not Ted, not Sassy, not even Nora. I hate it so much.
It's cannon that at least Ted doesn't get involved with peoples relationship drama. Remember when Higgins wanted to talk to Coach Beard about Jane? Ted was all, "Nuh uh, no way." I suspect that's probably how most characters see it. Sassy knows how bad Rebecca had it with her ex-husband, and is probably just happy Rebecca is happy. At least enough that she doesn't want to push back on it. Nora is a teenager, so a good firm understanding of power-imbalances might not be a strength she has developed yet. In her eyes, Sam is just a good guy she's crushing on. Keeley could have gone either way, but I think it makes sense she doesn't provide any push back. Maybe she's thinking it, but not expressing it. Maybe she's just happy to see Rebecca glowing.
IRL, it is problematic, for sure. I just think all the people who know have good reasons not to be the one to confront it, or at least not want to see the problem as it is.
Maybe her mom will provide some push back in season 3.
