Can't Login to the Forums?

A_Ron_HubbardA_Ron_Hubbard Cincinnati, OH
Apparently there is a problem with our SSO system where people can't login to the forums. It might only be affecting new members but it also might affect people who's login expires. We're working on the problem and will update when we have it fixed. In the meantime, uh... try not to logout? Sorry for it being busted!

  • I’ve noticed in the past sometimes I can’t login using my phone but then can login fine using a computer. Not sure if this is something completely different though

I was just able to log in after not being able to log in for more than a month, so if you changed something, it seems to have worked.

Edit - On Chrome on Windows 10

  • Whatever you did, it worked!
  • Thanks for fixing the issue!

Just so people know, this is still hella broken. I'm happy some people have got relief, but there are definitely still people having problems. If that's you, hang in there we're still working on it!

  • Ok, I've got a partial fix / workaround. If you log into the website (not the forums) and then click the "Forums" link in the main nav bar at the top, it will take you to the forums and log you in.

I'm still working on getting the sign in buttons on the forums working and it might be a few days.

There was a way to sign in directly to the forums?  What you're describing is the only way I've known how to log in for the last year at least.  Whenever I've clicked "Sign in" on the forums, desktop or phone, I'd be sent to the home page to sign in and I'd have to click back through the forum link there.

Yea same. Trying to use the sign in on the forum page hasn't worked for me in recent memory, I've always had to go to the homepage and then click the link to the forums after signing in.

  • It’s the same issue of needed to go to the main page but after FaceID started to work with the forums I can log directly in from there and avoid the 3 extra pages/clicks.

It's wild because that's not how this works with some user accounts. There are tons of accounts that just work one click login from the forum page. It's got to be something in the account that's getting goofed up.
  • When I would come to the forums and click login, I would be presented with what appeared to be the forum login box.  After clicking submit, I would be redirected to baldmove.com.

Remember that time Bald Move stole all of Bezos' copper, then badmouthed him when he put a stop to it?

    Jeff Bezos remembers.

Chalk me up to the folks with sign-in issues. I have used it both at work and on my home laptop. When using Chrome, it will simply not log-in. I have tried Safari and it signs in without a problem. That is the only way I am able to post this. It started about a week ago or so? I am not sure if that helps at all.

Same..I can't log in on Chrome, but can on Firefox.

I’ve been having problems with Chrome lately. Several sites suddenly don’t work. Not Bald Move. But suspect Chromes having issues.

Yeah, this will be a part on the upcoming Empire Business series. What to do about this deal? Because we are absolutely at the end of our rope figuring it out. There is seemingly no rhyme or reason to who can and cannot login. It's account level, it's browser level, a brand new account can login, an account created the day before can't, an account that has been a member for 5 years can't, supporter or non supporter, it's fucking bizarre. I am so, so sorry and I've spent so much time trying to figure it out. The wordpress, vanilla, and recurly plugins we're using to make the unified sign on work are very old and unsupported.

We got some ideas to pitch to the community on possibly ways to move forward coming real soon.

Today I could not log in to Walgreens. Couldn’t reset password. Zilch. I opened the website in Safari and worked the first time. I suspect @A_Ron_Hubbard it’s not you guys.

Chrome had an update tonight, and I was hoping that might fix the issue. But nope. So weird.

Weird, I got into work and everything on my work browser worked fine. I will try it from home as well and report back.

    Edit: Womp Womp. No dice.
  • got logged out of BM forums on my phone and tablet (Android) and won't log back in, just kicks me to the BM homepage. Still works on my PC though.

@redlancer try logging in from the homepage and then clicking on the forum link from there. I've had to do that most of the time

The login glitch came for me today.  I am able to log in on firefox (and MIcrosoft Edge, the chromium based one), but not chrome.  Works fine on android Chrome.  Just windows Chrome is giving me trouble.

That used to work, no longer works on any of my Android devices.
