That hasn't been confirmed in the show but I think it's safe to say that is correct. I have a feeling Erin's death is going to be some kind of tragic accident or possibly suicide although the shot off finger doesn't exactly seem logical with suicide.
Just be aware the first few times they talk about they show they are rather fixated by the regional band referenced in the show which has a funny name. Once they get over that the quality of the discussion is much better.

Probably but there may be some weird twist such as Dawn shot her to get more police/media attention in the area. Freddie may have her gun now and if he is caught by the police with it, it might be determined through ballistics to be the same gun used on Erin.
Some Spoilers. I now Aron is basically checked out and background watching and Jim is completely uninterested for reasons I totally understand. But I am liking this show. It's about a small town that was completely devastated by the Opioid Epidemic and all that has led too. I know it's not Kate portraying her whimsical happy personalty, but for me, that just shows her range as an actor. Yeah, it's dark and bleak during a dark and bleak time, but outside of the overwhelming Red Herrings I think It's been pretty engaging, For instance, Mid Season, they found a girl that was missing for a year. But he doesn't appear to even be the prime suspect. I mainly like it because I know it's a limited series and will be done after 10 Episodes vs a Series that drags on for season after season. for me, these days, I watch movies, Mini Series or Limited Series. Multiple season shows just go to far with having to outdo previous seasons.

I have a strong suspicion the cousin of Erin's father is the baby's daddy. I still haven't gotten names down for all the people in the show. When Mare was over with all of them hanging out, as soon as that discussion got around Erin he noped out of that situation immediately. I don't think he's the one that killed her, I'm still banking on some kind of accident or suicide.

I 100% think he's the father. When Mare glanced at that full beer bottle after he left, I thought for sure she was going to slyly take it for dna before she left (he did take at least one sip of it, didn't he?). I've been on 'hair color watch' to try to figure out the baby daddy. Billy Ross has tinges of ginger in his beard (totally evident when he and John were driving out to the park, and he was staring out of the passenger window).
I was wrong. My theory now is that it was John and not Billy who fathered the baby and bought that necklace. Note the receipt only had the last name, not the first. So the night Erin was killed, I bet she had John meet her at the park and she was pressuring him to give her the money for the baby's surgery, maybe even threatening to tell Lori everything. Billy was probably with him, *or* went out looking for him and tracked him to the park. Remember, that was the night of Frank's bachelor party and Frank was blackout drunk so there was no one to know if John or Billy left the house at all. Anyway - Billy confronts John about Erin, maybe even siding with Erin and telling John to just give her the money so she doesn't tell Lori and 'ruin' their family. John has a gun - the same gun in the tackle box, actually - he and Kenny struggle and the gun fires, richochet'ing and hitting Erin. The brothers take her to the creek, Billy strips her down & gets rid of the clothes and lays her over the rocks - that's how he gets covered in blood. This is the only scenario that makes sense as to why Billy would be willing to confess to murder - the struggle for the gun and the misfire. OR, Billy actually is the baby's father and the situation is in reverse - Erin met Billy at the park, John found them, they struggle for the gun, John accidentally causes it to go off. John pressures Billy to admit to murdering Erin because if he doesn't, John will tell everyone that Billy's actually the baby's father. I don't know which scenario I believe more though! Which one makes more sense for John to want to kill Billy at the cabin???
(Edit: OR did they both get Erin drunk and they both had their way with her and they don't know which one of them is the father???)

Photographic evidence from the cabin at the reunion? It kind of looked like a picture, not a page. You could see shadows of images through it, unless that was just me thinking that's what I was seeing.
Great episode, goddamn stressful though. Although I'm not happy about them now twice putting a kid/baby in peril to worry the audience.
OMG I was soooo scared and sad during that scene. I thought for sure he was going to drown. I have a feeling though that this will make Carrie realize she's not responsible enough yet to take care of him on her own.

A resolution of some kind has to happen with Kerry and Mare. Kerry was on the verge of using again and Mare looking after Drew is the only way she can begin to heal from her son’s suicide.

Who called Erin that made her freak out when the priest was giving her a ride home and what did they say? Seems like it has to be either Dylan or whoever the real father is. Does Erin have some other secret we don't know about, maybe related to the picture?

This show has a ridiculous amount of moving pieces and it's amazing how well they've included everything they have while making it still make sense. Absolutely loved Lindelof's little fan fiction theory on still watching.
@Michelle I'm piggy backing on your theory after this week's episode. I think your spot on with the fight over control of the gun and it plays into my accident theory I've been pushing.

I like the attic idea but you can watch the trailer for episode 7 and see if a particular scene fits with "attic".
As mentioned on the Still Watching podcast, Guy Pearce stepped into the role at the last minute as a favor [because the intended actor had issues? don't remember] so his 'star power' may be making the role seem more significant than it would otherwise.
