Not a terrible episode. Eugene's escape was absolutely ridiculous though. Rosita was barely phased by the puke because of course, they've been dealing with much grosser stuff than that. But how exactly did he have time to make fake footprints, find a cloth or something to wrap himself in, climb into a pile of ashes and make sure it was all settled before they closed the thirty foot lead he had on them? Duuuuuuuumb.

Also, I wonder if there is a way to make Eugene's dialogue more annoying? How about he deliver it while shoveling mac and cheese and sardines in his craw!

Also, does Walking Dead show more commercials than the average show? It sure feels that way...

They could've given Simon a better death. That Postman style fight to the death was trash.

Not to mention the 6'3" Simon got the first punches in and still got choked out by a guy who was recently in a car wreck, an all-out brawl with his nemesis, fell down a few floors into a pile of debris, and escaped a fire.

The fake fighting was real bad in that scene.

Is it just me or was Gregory's accent all over the place this episode

Can someone swap out the shitty 90s soap opera background music from the opening scene with Max Richter's stuff from the Leftovers? I just want to know if that would make this show even 5% better.

hahaha i was thinking the same thing. In that  scene with Simon I was like "is he trying to talk like Negan?!"

Things I liked this episode - Negan's strategy to trick Dwight into sharing false information with the rebel forces, very interested to see how they deal with this.

The fight with Negan and Simon

Things I didn't like - Eugene, Rosita and Daryll, Carl's Letter, 80% of the dialogue (as usual). Oh and lets not forget the Ocean siders.

OTOH, The Negan vs Simon fight looked like Yuen Woo-ping spent 6 months choreographing it when compared to Rick & Daryl vs the .50 BMG from episode 4. ;)

After falling three stories and apparently landing like a cat, Negan also took a straight shot to the back from Lucille by Rick. Didn't seem to affect him one bit. I know leather jackets are tough but it's a goddamn bat wrapped in barbed wire swung by your mortal enemy. It's going to do some damage. Also, that jacket is still pristine. For as much damage as it absorbs, it should probably look a little worse for wear.

  • How did Gregory get back to the compound? he left at the same time as the other escapees from Hilltop, by while they had a layover at the random bar Gregory just appears back at the saviors place?

I thought these places were supposed to be at least a little far from each other. Are we supposed to believe that the guy who has never really left his place at Hilltop now can travel for days on foot through the semi-wilderness by himself and make it to a place where he probably doesn't even quite remember the location of?

When he suddenly appeared in the opening scene I thought that the implication was that he was the one who was picked up by Negan, but that wasn't the case either. Did I miss a scene where he had a vehicle, or ran into some other savior patrols?

There's only one logical conclusion. Gregory is the mysterious helicopter pilot.

    Oops, spoiler. Sorry.

His survival chances are way better on TWD, where annoying supporting characters can last for season after season.  Right now it looks like he'll make it to season 9 of TWD and maybe beyond as he may not be on the same path as in the comics.

Oh it’s finally over after next week? Cool that frees up my sundays a little more. I’ll check back in when they cancel this show after about three more seasons.

    Hopefully before that
  • Nah AMC is gonna bleed this cow dry as long as they possibly can at this point, declining viewer numbers be damned.

A sad day for the Bald Move Empire.
  • I'll see if I can whip up some retrospective video or something. Really gonna miss this show.
  • I'm....free. I'm finally free.

Thank you, Bald Move, for removing this albatross from my neck. I can now finally put it behind me. I said I'd do it after the Negan fakeout, but came back to listen to you guys shit on the show.

No more. The end of an era, hopefully the rise of a better one.

  • The end is coming, and yet I smile. Now there's literally no reason left to watch TWD. Good decision.
Also, your decision to make an Expanse podcast made me finally watch the show. Binged it in four days, it's so good. Thanks Bald Move.
