Daredevil Season 3 coverage?

Are we going to get any? I don't remember it being mentioned as an upcoming show. Those initial trailers have me so hyped, and watching Episode 1 right now.

I asked Jim about it and he said he was interested, but that he couldn't speak for @A_Ron_Hubbard. So the ball is in your court, what're your thoughts? It looks like a return to form. I was really disappointed with Season 2. This looks awesome.

The only two really great Netflix Seasons are Punisher (A great show) and Daredevil 1 (A great comic book show).

Then is Jessica Jones 1 as a good show

(Weirdly/Sadly) Iron Fist 2 as a pretty good show

Luke Cage 2 also a pretty good show

Daredevil 2 with a really excellent first arc that devolves into a mess. If Daredevil 2 was just the Punisher and Kingpin stuff it would be up there, maybe the number one spot. But the rest of the season drags it down.

Defenders as a boring mediocre show

Luke Cage 1 with a really great first arc that loses all momentum

Iron Fist 1 that is bad on so many levels from acting, to editing, to fight choreography, to failing at keeping characters consistent, or making them believable, or showing us understandable motivations. But it also might have the best character arc in Ward Meechum of all the Netflix shows, and all three Meechum were top notch to every so slightly balance all the wrong that's in the show.

Jessica Jones 2 as completely all over the place, should have been half as long as it was, and needed all kinds of major rewrites.

So far, what I've seen of Daredevil 3, I agree it looks like it's a return to form. I hope the podcast returns with the standard three episodes at a time plus finale with wrap-up format. That's something I definitely want to listen to.

  • Good first episode, I liked that Matt regained his superpowers by rinsing out his sinuses with a neti pot. lol

LUKE CAKE IS NOW CANCELED! (A couple weeks after Iron Fist was canceled.)

Looks like Netflix is rethinking their strategy after the Disney/Fox deal.

All the more now do I want Jim and A.Ron to do Daredevil season 3. This might be the last we get.

Edit: A few more episodes in. It's hard to imagine them screwing up this season. This is definitely worth watching, and I would be very surprised if Jim and A.Ron would be disappointed with this. This feels like the Season 1 follow up we needed.

These shows are all incredibly subjective.  To me, Luke Cage 2 was the best, Punisher was just meh, and both seasons of Jessica Jones were the pits.  To see that having a third season (as of now) while both Iron Fist and Luke Cage are cancelled is really a bummer, to me.

I could go for season or two of Heroes for Hire with Luke, Danny, Misty, and Colleen.  If Marvel is really just pulling the plug on these characters, I think that's a tremendous mistake.  While I can't speak for anyone else, I'm absolutely tapped out on monthly subscription streaming services and even if Marvel/Disney have some stellar original serieses coming, all they're getting from me is a torrent or at best a "free month" binge-watch.

Yea Punisher was just ok IMO. Dragged on too long, as most Netflix Marvel shows tend to do. And I remember getting pretty turned off by the relentless grim violence, which I get it, it's the Punisher, but it was too brutal and bleak for me at times.

I came into the season wondering how they would pull it off because the brutality in his Daredevil appearance was off the charts, and I didn't think I could watch a full season of that.

I was actually surprised at how much restraint they had (against that point of comparison) with the violence for his own show, and how they dove a lot more into the theme of soldiers returning home and the difficulty reintegrating into society.

I thought the Punisher was the strongest Netflix show, but I haven't watched Jessica Jones Season 2, Luke Cage Season 2 and didn't finish the Elektra/Hand part of Daredevil 2.  I thought there were really only 1 or 2 episodes of the Punisher were it wasn't really working (when the terrorist plot hits), and it didn't bother me as much those low points do in some other shows (Luke Cage 1, Jessica Jones).   Surprisingly Iron Fist 2 is getting good notices even though it's cancelled, may check that out.

The Kingpin is back in DD3 from what I gather, so I'll have to check it out.
  • Everyone should watch the final ~10 minutes of Iron Fist season 2.

The setup for Jessica Jones season 3 has me hopeful it will be much better than JJ season 2.

I guess don't be sad Luke Cage and Iron Fist are cancelled, be happy Mike Colter and Jessica Henwick now have time for other projects.
  • I guess we’re supposed to just pretend the Kingpin doesn’t get put into some super high security solitary the moment he cuts a deal with the government, right?

Yep, because in this comic book world Kingpin can predict what people will do and executes multi-year plans without a hitch until something happens to upset his calculations, in this case Foggy seeing some documents by accident.
  • I watched the whole third season of daredevil the last two days, really liked it. Although it drags in the second half from time to time I was emotionally invested, there were real stakes and I wasn't sure who to root for. I liked some simple details like kingpin never leving his supposed cage but adding a third dimension to it, good symbolism for the ever present undercurrents. The resolution at the end felt a little to quick and easy to me, but hey.
Iron fist season 2 was ok, but a little too much on the nose with the sjw stuff and no real stakes in the fights. It felt similar to JJ season 2, but more coherent and completly predictable. Unlike daredevil it's a show I watch in the background while doing other stuff.
I kind of like the first half of both luke cage seasons and the setting but they fall apart for me in the second act so I'm not that sad the show got cancelled. It's probably a power game of netflix against disney's streaming services to burn most of those shows.

  • Came here just to beg Jim and A-ron to cover Daredevil season 3. I'm through 4 episodes so far and it definitely seems worthy to me. A great show.

Of course, I binged season 3 all weekend and finished the last two episodes last night. Definitely a return to form. To me, Karen Page character was all over the place which kind of took me out of the story during a few scenes but overall the season was lit AF.
  • I really really REALLY hope they cover it or even specific episodes. Pretty pleeeeease @A_Ron_Hubbard (insert pleading hands).

Agreed, I am 7 episodes in and this season is fantastic.  Wasn’t hyped for it, until I heard
@A_Ron_Hubbard  mention it during a lunch or BaldTV.  Hoping for some coverage on BaldTV.  Keep up the good work fellas.  Planning to finish the season today and looking forward to diving into some of the forums here, once I am done.
  • Finished up season 3 - I was engaged from start to finish.  The end felt a bit like a NASCAR race with three cars fighting for the lead... lots of furious beating and banging with three laps to go and then... suddenly it was over.  With that said, I'm not disappointed with the ending... it felt oddly appropriate.
