One minor gripe - I think I might have mentioned this last week? - I'm not happy with the direction they've taken Michonne. Rick was the de facto leader of the group - so now that he's gone, it's automatically Michonne? She's talking to the others like she's the HBIC, but who appointed her such? I mean, I'm all for female empowerment but there's empowerment, and there's whatever Michonne is right now.

But yeah, good creepy episode. I'd tentatively say that the Whisperers are the first thing in a long time that's translating to the show at least as good as, if not better, than in the comic.
I just wished they had waited more than 1 scene before the reveal. I would have taken an episode of them freaking out over whether or not the walkers are becoming sentient before figuring it out. A scene of them getting chased by running walkers would be terrifying if your assuming they're actually dead.
Still not sure about this whole side "we don't all get along for some reason" plot. I'm waiting for that to turn into a trainwreck of endless flashbacks, but so far so good.
I wish the character had been given more to do. Great character, great person. Easy on the eyes, too.

Essentially, we have a classic "SUPER MEGA CLIFFHANGER" that smacks of recent season. And also have whats looks to be another BIG BAD, which kind of falls into the tired formula we've seen so far.
Maybe it'll work out fine because the overall execution will be better, but still, troubling.
they were surrounded in a misty graveyard by walkers and humans-disguised-as-wakers coordinating an attack. that'd be the cliffhanger. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
But it really does seem we have a new "big bad," the episode is titled New Enemy eh?
Don't mind the cliffhanger. It works how a traditional cliffhanger is supposed to in the pulpy serialized story sense. The Negan bat head-smash cliffhanger was totally broken because the only ones who didn't know what was happening was the audience. The characters already had their resolution to the situation but was just hidden from us because reasons.
That being said...
for the second time in about as many weeks (the first one being Rick impaled on the rebar) they IMMEDIATELY cut to the 'next on' and show the characters now away from their predicament. It was probably three seconds between "we're surrounded in the graveyard" and a shot of them heading back into Hilltop. Just like RIck, it was him on the rebar and smash cut to him walking around doing his Rick thing.
FFS AMC, let your own episodes breathe for 2 seconds before semi-spoiling the show.
