  • I thought this was a pretty good episode, not perfect but if I refrain from nit-picking, my first thought is that this was the best episode since the first one.

  • Bill Burr is just not a good actor. Natalie Tena also needed to dial it back a bit. She was operating at a 12 when maybe an 8 would have been fine. Maybe she thought she was in Cats and not Star Wars?

  • ^ Yeah, felt like an episode of Buck Rogers in the 25th Century.

  • Dave Filoni as lead X-Wing pilot, great easter egg :)  Barely recognized him without the cowboy hat. I can't imagine how long he's been waiting to write himself into SW canon
  • Wow, surprised by the early reaction in here. I thought this episode was the first truly great one of the season. THIS was the type of show that I thought we were getting from the very beginning.

I could not disagree more about Burr, he just stole an entire episode of a Star Wars TV show. Bill Burr. What a time to be alive.

I agree, I thought Burr was great.

I have been waiting all season for him (Bill Burr) to show up and I really dug it. It is definitely pretty crazy that he is in a Star Wars anything.

The episode was pretty damn good, I thought. Genuinely tense moments here and there. Honestly though, put my dude Clancy Brown in and I'm immediately sold.

  • It’s Friday the 13th and we had a whole 20 seconds of the Mando as a horror movie character in the background. That couldn’t have been a coincidence right?

  • Let's hear it for titling episode Number 6 The Prisoner

  • I don’t quite know what I mean by this, but it “feels” (I know, I know) like they are handling callbacks to the prebuilt universe in the “right” way really consistently. It’s in the Goldilocks Zone.

    I loved...

    - the use of the devil species alien
    - Bill Burr’s mention of (and dig on) the Gungans / Jar Jar Jinks.
    - the X Wings.

He also had the greatest meta joke of all time:

    “He was an Imperial sharpshooter”

    “Well that’s not saying much.”

    “I wasn’t a Stormtrooper, wise ass.”

  • Bill Burr firing lasers..........uhhh......RAD!
  • I remember seeing Giancarlo Esposito in a trailer, damn, lets just get a BB/BCS hostile takeover of the whole operation. Bring in Hank, Gomey, Tuco........

I hope that’s the funny little joke of season 2. This season was very much “Hey look at all these stand-up comedians!

I hope next season is like “Hey look all these secondary TV actors!
  • This episode was the best Star Wars screen media I've seen since the OT.  They nicely sketched in the back story, the humor, the heist and blowback was real fun.

This episode also can be used as a prototype to show players what a cyberpunk heist (like Shadowrun) looks like.
  • I enjoyed this episode. I liked the directing a lot. The scene with the flashing lights where Mando sneaks up behind Bill Burr was great. I also liked the first fight scene with the droid, and then the fight with the horned dude (with the fire and first door not working).

I still think the show is never going to be more than 3 feet deep, but it's a fun 3 feet.

  • And Bill Burr has a good "punchable face."

I always feel compelled to point out this is on the director. They're either telling the actor to crank it up, or not telling them to dial it back. Given that we've seen her dial it back, I'm inclined to go with the former.

I was fine with Burr though.

This was a good episode, and more along the lines of the first 3.

EDIT- i suppose you could throw the editor in there, since they have influence on what gets used. Though it's hard to know if he had other choices. I remember reading that Ian Holm will read lines 20 different ways and that lets the director and editor have options.
