The Mandalorian - Chapter 8 - SPOILERS

MurderbearMurderbear Cold Spring, Ky
Holy shit! What a fantastic episode! Mando taking down a Tie Fighter singlehandedly was amazing. The cold open with the Stormtroopers was good. Glad they died for punching Baby Yodes. And the Darksaber!! Awesome end to the season.

Baby Yoda on the bike ride was everything. You said most of the high notes. That was a wonderful finale.

Pedro Pascal cameo! (Jk) also the “nurse and protect” droid. That thing was bad tf ass yet again. When he wants to get his he absolutely does.

  • Excellent pilot season! I can’t wait for season 2 and hope all of Disney’s SW series are as good

  • I can’t believe we got the darksaber on live action Star Wars. The back half of this season was fantastic.
  • I really enjoyed this season and can’t wait till Fall 2020. I’m still pumped that we got to see the Dark Saber in live action.

I can’t wait to see what Disney does with the other live action shows on the horizon.
  • Won't it be great when Mando knows how to use the jetpack?

  • 2 great scenes apart from those already mentioned:

    1) The opening scene with the 2 stormtroopers on speeders waiting for the ok to deliver the child. Just shooting the shit, and then the target practice gone wrong. The way the second one looks at his blaster and shakes it. Funny stuff.

    2) IG's entrance into town on the speeder. Baby Yoda laughing while IG is taking out Stormtroopers left and right.

    Can't wait for season 2.

  • This is hope for the franchise. The last two episodes were great.

    Can't wait for season 2.

Jason Sudeikis listed as one of the bike troopers. Definitely one of the better cold opens in a show after such a tense western-style cliffhanger
  • Horrified gasps throughout the household when they were punching Baby Yoda. Unforgivable.

Taika Waititi directed this episode, definitely came through in small moments like that.

I'm hopeful for the Obi-Wan series. Obviously Ewan McGregor is great, but also because it's being directed by Deborah Chow who directed two episodes of The Mandalorian  (in addition to a bunch of other tv) - seems like she's ready to break out.

Storm trooper target practice was the best.

What an amazing episode to end the series. It's already been mentioned multiple times but the storm troopers just hanging out shooting the shit and then unable to shoot shit was amazing.  IG droid driving on the speeder was amazing.  This season was far from perfect as there were a couple episodes that weren't the same quality but these last couple episodes were amazing.  Can't wait for season 2.
  • Gus needs to get a better handle on his troops. Out of all the people he could have sent after Baby Yoda, he sends the equivalent of Badger and Skinny Pete.

Them trying to shoot that can had me laughing pretty good.  That was some good fan service there.

  • Best Star Wars since OT hands down. I had no interest in the Leader/armorer mandalore but that scene with her killing 5 troopers is pretty sick.

    Things that made me happy:

    -The Mando v. TIE Fighter

-The darksaber/ Gideon living to fight another day

-Greef Karga telling baby Yoda to "Do the magic hand thing" and getting a wave in return.

  • Season 2 to include “established” Star Wars characters...

This might work, but I think it was inevitable that Disney would never have the restraint not to do this.

  • I can’t wait for “The Mandalorian season 2: Mr. Mom”

Especially looking forward to Mando navigating the school drop off line for baby yoda and trying to iron while wearing his Beskar armor.

  • If they get Sebastian stan to play luke and we can get some adventures of his search to bring the Jedi back would be sooooooo fucking dope

I am not a huge Star Wars fan, and I still loved this season. It gave me Firefly vibes because of the Space-Western stuff. Hell it even twangy, Spaghetti-Western music. Adored it for the most part. These last two episodes really hit it out of the park. I was glad to see Carl Weathers return. I am a bit confused why Mando's parents didn't jump into the shelter with him. It looked like there was space for them too. Even if it was cramped, that is better than death.
  • I am a bit confused why Mando's parents didn't jump into the shelter with him.
At some point in the past they'd gotten sick of the fact that Mando wouldn't stay in his crib and kept pushing buttons, never mind his constantly playing with that knob on that lever.

More seriously, if we can have a group which finds it dishonorable to remove their helmet in the presence of others, surely Mando's parents can find it dishonorable for adults to hide during fighting.

His parents were not Mandalorian though. So it can’t be a respect thing. Remember he was a foundling

It’s a minor thing. You can come up with a few excuses. They wanted to help their other friends/family. They knew if all 3 hid there they would be found. Etc
  • Garthgou81Garthgou81 Placerville, CA
Yeah, I’m just picking apart an excellent episode of tv. There are a ton of reasons. They could have gone to try and help other friends and family after securing the kiddo.

I didn't say they were.  Don't try to mandosplain. ;-)

You and Garthgou81 did come up with better reasons.
