Castelvania remained fun. Nothing to deep, but great animation, good dialogue, good monster and character design, and cool fights.
Infinity Train is one of the best animated series in recent memory, hands down. It's on HBO Max. If you haven't watched it, and you like animated shows, give it a shot.

I'm kinda shocked at how much I like this series. It's way more compelling dramatically than something based on Castlevania lore should be. Best video game adaptation in TV or movies IMO

Yeah it's not really breaking any new ground, but its a very competently made beautiful animation based on a video game. That automatically puts it in the top .1% of video game adaptations lol.
I wouldn't call it binging, as I am trying to enjoy each episode instead of steamrolling through them, but Fargo Season 4 is a delight. I am 7 episodes in (and what I understand as the lull of the season) and still loving it. Looking back on this series, I've loved every season in their own way, but after such a long break following Season 3, it became apparent how much I missed this show. I had kept putting it off for whatever reason, but boy, I'm glad I got back into visiting this weird, creative little show.
Speaking of shows that I dropped off of (but am happy to be getting back into), I started Season 3 of Mr. Robot. Season 2 of Mr. Robot left such a bad taste in my mouth...not that I hated it. It is a technical marvel. It looks and sounds great. But Esmail really let some of his ego take the reins. It became bloated and almost incomprehensible by the end (at least to me). But the season premiere does a masterful job at setting the stage to remind the audience what has happened and introduce the new story they will be telling. I am a fan again.

Oh man, seasons three and four are so, so good. Just go on media blackout and don't read any articles or anything and try to keep an open mind, especially in season four.

I'm ready for it. I somehow managed to avoid most things with that show. I attribute that to it just not being the most-watched show on TV and also a show that is hard to boil down to specific plot points. I was looking for BM coverage (Overcast only goes as far back as Season 4, for some reason). But on second thought, this is a show that I find I enjoy more without hearing other people dissect or predict
currently it's "Startup" on Netflix. it's a a combination of a Dark Version of Silicon Valley and a Light Version of Mr. Robot. My only concern is there won't be a season 4. It hasn't been cancelled, but nothing is provided for a return. Either way, it's a fun ride.
I binged a couple of British crime dramas this week.
The Pact is about a group of women who work together and play a prank on their awful boss that goes horribly wrong. Usual scenario - they all have their own secrets, someone seems to know what they did, yada yada. It was very watchable, but forgettable.
Innocent was a show I thought was a one off when it came out a couple of years ago, and I loved it. But they’ve just released a second season and it seems to have turned into an anthology series, as the second season is entirely unrelated to the first. S1 is about a man who gets out of prison after being convicted for killing his wife, but has always maintained his innocence. S2 is about a woman who has a conviction for the murder of a teenage boy overturned, and then helps the police to try to find the real killer. It’s very somber, co-written by the writer of Unforgotten, so it has that sad “everyone is touched by this tragedy” vibe about it. S2 was an easy, absorbing watch, but I did like S1 better, because I had less of an idea of what to expect. Also, S2 cribbed a big chunk of the plot from another well known British crime drama, so it was kind of easy to figure out where it was going.
I also watched "Innocent". I thought it was great. Holy crap it took a dark turn. I think a lot of Qanon believers would see it as a documentary, but it was still great. I usually don't like English Dubbed Shows, just because the emotions of the actor don't match what I am hearing in English, but I found this one okay in that department. BTW - Not British, very Spanish. Also, can someone tell the Spanish Police to actually watch the back door of a house they are supposed to have surrounded :-) ? "Fool me once, shame on me, fool me twice....erm..I won't be fooled again".
Anyway, cool to hear there is a second season. Especially if it's an Anthology. I'll have to check it out. Thanks for the heads up.
Wait, are we talking about a different show? Because the show I am referring to is about a guy recently released from prison after accidentally killing someone in a bar fight. It has the same Title, but is a Spanish show with dubbed English. What service is the show you're talking on? Netflix or other?
Hmm? I am very curious about this British Show. Based on the limited info I have, I am starting to think there is a British version and a Spanish version of the same show with some variations. If anyone doesn't want spoilers don't continue, but does the British version end up with everyone having a dark past they are trying to hide? The shows seem identical on the surface. If you don't mind Dubbed English, the one I am talking about is on Netflix and has more twists and turns than Twizzlers. There are some leaps in logic to move the plot, but otherwise, you will want to know just exactly what the hell is going on and why and it takes the last episode to piece it all together,
Also, what service is the British one on? I want to check it out. Netflix, Amazon or other?
Obviously I know that I am criminally behind the times but I just started Schitt's Creek last week and man that show is great! I pretty much binged it all weekend and I stopped last night after episode 1 of Season 6.
No good reason for never starting it but I am so pissed at myself for missing it for so long! So good! It is so funny and has so much heart. Absolutely love it.

Yeah it kind of reminds me of Bob's Burgers in that way - it's a funny show but it's also heartwarming and kind and is therefore a real pleasure to watch.

I don’t know what service the British one is on in the US. We had it on one of our national TV channels here in Australia. Google seems to indicate it’s on Amazon.
The British one is really a whodunnit - innocent person maligned and then the show is about finding the real killer. It’s “everyone has a secret” only in the sense that you need red herrings to make people think this or that character was the real killer.
June 3 on Peacock - put it in your calendars, Americans, because that is when We Are Lady Parts is streaming. It’s a 6 episode British comedy about a Muslim all girl punk band, and it is a DELIGHT.
Gangs of London - Phenomenal action scenes and a gangland story which IMO starts weakly but gets better as the season goes. Very different from the Broadchurch/Mare of Easttown ;-) type of British crime shows.
@Hatorian Just hearing that from someone the other day made me go and watch a bunch of episodes. I’m still in love with it. “Sleepytime” might be the loveliest thing I’ve ever seen - I was a bit of a crying mess at the end of that one.

The one you’re talking about sounds interesting though - I might see if that’s streaming anywhere in Australia.

where’s Cutter Dee??? Where is he? Why has he been gone since S1. Why didn’t you warn me!!!?!
My kid loves it and it's so cute and heartwarming and we were getting close to the end of season 1 lol.
