Does anyone have any interest in a commission for Something about Mary?
Man, I wonder how that one has aged. My guess is not that great. I was watching of Me, Myself, and Irene (also the Farrelly brothers) and had the same feeling that it didn't age amazingly. But it would be fascinating to revisit.
I don't know about you guys, but I would throw in towards a community commission of 2006's "Perfume: The Story of a Murderer" directed by Tom Tykwer (Run Lola Run, Cloud Atlas) and starring Ben Whishaw, Alan Rickman, and Dustin Hoffman. It's a psychological thriller about a perfumer with a keen sense of smell that goes on a homicidal quest to create the perfect scent.
It has very mixed reviews, with a 59% on the tomatometer (74% audience score). It split Ebert and Roeper, with Roeper hating it and Ebert giving it 4/4 stars. Ebert says "It ventures so fearlessly down one limited, terrifying, seductive dead end, and finds there a solution both sublime and horrifying. It took imagination to tell it, courage to film it, thought to act it, and from the audience it requires brave curiosity about the peculiarity of obsession." He went so far as to name it "the most underappreciated movie of the year."
I personally loved it. I'd give it a solid 9.5/10. (From memory, I watched in in around a decade ago.

Valid point. I haven’t seen it off of tv in YEARS and I bet that’s probably for the best.

They most definitely did!
Twister was one of the movies that came to mind years ago when I was thinking about this (that and Shawshank Redemption, which they did since)
