He picked a really good time to go 17/19 from the line. Giannis was out of his mind last night, there's a really short list of finals performances like he had this series.
Happy NBA Draft Day! I tried to get some mojo going on the Discord catch-all sports ball thread but it’s pretty anemic over there at the moment. Who all will you be watching for tonight? Woj confirms Pistons are taking Cade but I think they’re still listening to offers. I like my Rockets taking Jalen Green. I’m excited about a Kevin Porter Jr. & Jalen Green backcourt. Brings back Steve Francis & Cutino Mobley feels. I also hope this 3-team trade chatter with Rockets Pacers Hornets goes thru and we move Eric Gordon and move up in the draft with our 2nd pick. My wife actually started watching the draft a few years ago cause of how the fashion has gotten, so there’s that to watch too.
The Warriors rumors are all over the place and I genuinely don't know what I want them to do. They can't go all in on upside on both picks like most teams drafting here would because of the Steph situation, but there also aren't any all star level players available for the assets they have to make the most out of the current roster. They had this same problem last year and it was a mess the entire season bouncing between trying to develop Wiseman and push for the playoffs. They didn't even get a solid push until Wiseman went down for the season and that setback means he's going to miss another entire offseason program including training camp and preseason.
They probably end up drafting both 7 and 14 because there isn't much else they can do. Any trade would have to include Wiggins because they're capped, but he's also more valuable to the Warriors than he would be to most other teams who would view him as a negative asset. So any trade would have to be some combination of 7/14/Wiseman/Wiggins/future 1s for a player that's enough of an upgrade over Wiggins to make it worth it for the Warriors and I can't think of anything other than possibly Siakam but even that is risky with his injury and drop off in production the last few seasons. Hopefully the rookies can contribute off the bench or serve as trade bait at the beginning of the season if anyone suddenly becomes unhappy with their current team.
Can't really put Draymond and Simmons on the court at the same time so it makes sense. Simmons needs to go somewhere the pressure will be off him for a while to see if he gives a enough of a shit to improve his offense, Warriors are not that team.
Sham bomb: Lakers and Wizards in talks to bring Westbrook to the Lakers. Looks like it might happen cause they only way it works is for Montrezzl to pick up his option which already happened earlier today…
This is the disaster movie I never realized I needed to see but I’m here for it.
What the fuck is philly smoking? Teams shouldn’t even be offering 2 assets at this stage. He’s a total liability in the playoffs. He’s unplayable. You don’t acquire players to win the regular season and individual awards.
I have no explanation for why @Chinaski's Raps passed on Suggs - he was such an obvious replacement for Lowry. Nothing wrong with Barnes, but I don't really think that he fills an organizational need the way Suggs does.
What’s with the Kuminga pick? Will that help Steph?
i don't know much about him other than he was second player taken that played in the G-League (Cade was the other). he's tall and they def need size so we'll see.

A lot like Barnes, all D no shot.
sounds like GSW drafted Draymond's replacement if that's the case.

Nope. Been getting trolled by Lakers fans on twitter saying Steph is now just a circus act to sell tickets and I have a hard time disagreeing with them. Leaving the last two years of cratering with just Wiseman, Kuminga, and Moody to show for it looks good for a team who wants to contend in 2024, not so good for a team who should be making the most out of an aging superstar who is the best player this team has had or will ever have. I think it's telling that the people who worked out Kuminga were Lacob and his kid and a bunch of other execs with Myers, and they came away saying they were impressed he speaks four languages. It was the same shit with Wiseman speaking mandarin, they love the marketing opportunity.
I do feel bad for Kuminga and Wiseman because this is not the situation they should be in. They're high upside players who need touches to make mistakes and grow and that's going to be controversial at best on a team that supposedly is fighting for playoff seeding.
Look forward to Steph balling out in another play in game this year unless Klay miraculously turns back into 90% of 2019 Klay ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Gilbert Arenas - who I think won, what was it, 10? 12? 15 Championships (it was one of them, or maybe it was sweet fuck all ZERO!) - thinks that the Raptor's Championship doesn't count...and then lists all the reasons why it was even harder for us to win one.

1st game I’m gonna tune into is the 3:30 Knicks game to watch Quentin Grimes…
