It’s encouraging man. The ownership group talked a lot about how they were gonna be very aggressive in their spending. I’m glad it wasn’t all bark and no bite. The Rangers are back to being a (somewhat) competitive team and it’s a big step from where they were after last season.
Do any A's fans have a running list of all the sites they threatened to move to? I kinda lose track between them and the Raiders but in the last 10 years I remember Fremont, San Jose, a handful of places in Oakland, San Antonio, Vegas multiple times, and somewhere in Florida I think?

FWIW, despite having a “must see / experience” stadium… the Las Vegas Raiders are near the bottom in regard to NFL attendance.

Wait a second, the A's said they might move somewhere in Oakland that ISN'T the Coliseum and fans didn't immediately respond "YES! DO IT! PLEASE!!! That would be amazing!"

From what I've seen, people are on board with them moving somewhere else in Oakland or potentially somewhere else in the Bay Area, but there's a bunch of local politics in the way that always makes these things feel empty.
Alameda county got absolutely hosed on the Coliseum "renovations" to add Mt Davis to bring the Raiders back from LA. This ruined the stadium as a baseball park by killing a lot of the views and sight angles, the Raiders weren't exactly selling out the place bringing in whatever BS tax revenue they always say is going to make it profitable somehow, and as of the last time I checked my parents who live in that county were STILL paying that piece of shit off a handful of years ago. Basically the only one that thing appeased was Al Davis, everyone has been trying to leave that stadium since the 2000s.
There's a lot of other nonsense involved but none of this has really inspired the local communities to think we need to use more public money on the A's and they're some of the cheapest owners in the business so I always assume all of these "we're totally moving to X location" moments are mostly in bad faith and used to push the narrative around or apply pressure to public officials to give them more money. One pops up every year or two for the last decade at least.
yeah it's just a big political mess that @bizmarkiefader basically laid out. i have thoughts, but it's so exhausting. if i had to guess they're going to end up in LV which is pretty gross. we'll see what happens, baseball in general is complete laughable mess at the moment so it's hard to be optimistic about anything with that sport.

Ugg, not LV. San Jose might be ok, but no more Vegas!
super bummed to see him go, but really happy for him. he now gets to play for his hometown and he got paid handsomely today (8 year, $168 million extension).

Really wanted him to come share 1B/DH duties with Goldy, but we were never going to give him that kind of money.
I wouldn't be upset if Freeman somehow ended up back there sharing 1B/DH duties, but he's going to get more money than Olson.
i'm hearing Boston and San Diego are 2 potential landing spots for Freeman. Padres makes sense since they just lost Tatis for a few months and their need for a first baseman.

Also, I'm predicting Chapman to have a similar offensive boom as I did Donaldson, going from the Oakland dump and it's enormous foul territory, to the homer happy dome.

Maybe in 2023.
Yes, and about 11 months before I was expecting.
He's also a dual citizen and played for Canada.
(not really, but ya know.)
