Also USA hoops plays for gold tonight at 8… pretty good hoops day!
  • Ben Simmons has put out there that he doesn't want to go to teams like Portland or Toronto. He says that he wants to go to a California team because I guess it's easier to go to LA parties that way. I'm not gonna lie, I was kinda hoping Portland could make a deal for him that didn't include Lillard. Now I hope he gets traded to Cleveland or Minnesota. You can be afraid to shoot jump shots just as easily there.

Ahh crap it’s 8/8 not 8/6. Well, still USA hoops tonight

I really don't think with the market he has he's going to be able to make that call. He's not exactly AD or Kawhi

Excited about finally getting to see Usman Garuba play in a Rockets uniform tonight. He missed the first two Summer League games cause of the Olympics wrapping up.  Also really happy to see Jarreau play well for the Heat. Hope he gets a 2 way contract.

This interview with KD and Draymond bringing up this old shit caused a big stir in the Bay Area media yesterday. The highlight quotes are Draymond talking about how after he and KD blew up at each other Kerr and Myers sat him down for like 2 hours telling him he had to apologize to KD and Draymond laughed in their faces. He told them they're going to fuck this up and then he and KD both agree that they did and basically blame the Warriors for the whole thing getting so ugly.

I'm of 2 minds with this but I kind of think none of them handled it well

    1. The Warriors brass tried to treat this like they're the HR department and this was someone blowing up on a sales call or something. If Bill in accounting blows up in the office you can sit him down for a meeting and make sure he understands how things work here and tell him he needs to apologize and move forward. Draymond and KD don't view Kerr and Myers as their direct superior in that same way, there is way too much ego involved and that strategy was never going to work. It's part of their job to manage this, but you can't just lock Draymond in a room until he apologizes, they had to do better.

    2. KD and Draymond blaming all of this on the Warriors is ridiculous. Draymond said they had to work it out themselves and Kerr getting involved fucked everything up, so how come you couldn't and didn't work it out yourselves? He doesn't acknowledge at all that he's the one who blew up in the first place and that this is a situation management is obviously going to care about, and that his word that he knows how to fix it is not going to be good enough while he's still heated about it a day later refusing to take any responsibility and laughing in his coach's face.

I think KD was probably gone regardless but this argument is a good microcosm of everything that's changed from the 15-18 run up until now. Kerr's comment about being sick of Draymond's shit makes even more sense in context.

I saw this and then decided to finally go through with unfollowing all of the NBA-related accounts on social media. I'm done with it. When the games are on I'll watch if I have time, but this kind of drama is just plain ridiculous.

GSW playing some pretty good ball. should be fun to see how they adjust once Klay and Wiseman come back. was pretty fun to see the Brooklyn crowd chant MVP a few nights ago when Steph Curry was running circles around that team.

Steph needs 10 three pointers to break Ray Allens all time 3-PT record. would be kinda cool if he got it shooting over his brother tonight in Philly. go dubz!

I'm no Pat Bev fan, but his CP3 slander yesterday was hilarious. Saying he goes and gets wine and steak the night before a CP3 game but if it's Steph he's in bed by 8pm, just lol.

“You know what we call him? Cone. He’s a cone.”  :D

as someone who has rooted for both Mr. 94 ft and The Point God, this beef has me torn a little. Pat is out of line, and I can’t believe I have to actually agree with what Matt fricken Barnes said about it. You can take the tough kid out of Chicago but you can’t take the Chicago out of the tough kid. I don’t think Pat has ever gotten over being traded away from The Beard in a package for CP3. And that push in the back a year or two ago? That was nuts. Pat is just one of those guys. Hate him as an opponent but love his fire if he’s on your team.

Also NBA lottery is today. I’ve prepared myself for Rockets getting the 5th pick, but man do I hope we get 1st or 2nd and get Jabari first, then Chet second. Paolo I’d be happy with too.

Yeh. Very happy with any of those guys. We had a 1 in 3 shot at the top 3, so can’t complain. Ivey and Sharpe are gonna be really good but we need bigs, good on guards.

Sounds like Ayton might be available. If he ends up on OKC with the core they have plus the second pick and all the other assets they have left for potential trades, could be a team to watch out for. Only took them like five years of tanking.

Sorry about being MIA from the forums during these playoffs. I’ve stepped up in my company’s positions and I’ve been swarmed with work. It was to be expected but unfortunately that means you have to give up a few things. Once I get more comfortable in my new role, I’ll be back. But for now I need to focus on work rather than BM stuff. I’ll always be in the club though, lunch is a weekly listen for me.

Anyways, I know I’m a bit late here but I just wanted to say that I’m super proud of this Mavs season. They overachieved and game 7 against the Suns is an all time win for me. Embarrassing them was SOOOO satisfying. I already found CP3 annoying and now I can’t stand the guy. I used to respect Booker’s game but now I can’t stand him either. Crazy what a playoff series does to your feelings of another team.

I’m looking forward to seeing how they improve the team. Obviously the Mavs lack size, that was always going to be what killed them. And I think wing depth is another key position, particularly someone off the bench. But I’m excited, this definitely feels like 2003 all over again. This time we have Luka at a MUCH more advanced stage than Dirk had in that WCF run. Go Mavs!

You can't be much better set up than having a top 5 player who's only 23 and already making deep playoff runs.

Well that was quite the 3rd to 4th quarter roller coaster ride.
  • ChinaskiChinaski Santa Cruz, CA
tip of the hat to Boston on the adjustments they made after the first quarter. as well as the groove they got in in the 4th quarter. can't wait for game 2!

if you can't respect that.. kick rocks! go dubs! B)

  • Congrats @Chinaski! Happy to see Steph get his finals mvp. Hopeful that the Celts can build on this year and figure out how to not turnover the ball so goddamn much!

so how you feeling about the draft @cdrive? and thoughts on trading Christian Wood to Dallas?

Love the Wood trade. He’s bad for us but he’ll be a good fit for Luka. We got #2, #17, #26 and trying to move Gordon for another 1st round pick. And they’ve been talking about trading to move further up. It’s going to be a hoot! Haha. Im very engaged this draft. Probably the opposite for Warriors fans!
