I actually really liked Harajuku Media, and the competitive dynamic it creates between her and Technical Boy.
I think New Media fits perfectly with the show and what (social) media is today. While I enjoyed old Media's performance a lot, I couldn't really associate her with what I think of as media. I've never seen an episode of I love Lucy, and what I know of Marilyn Monroe could be summed up in 10 sentences tops. So she was definitely outdated. But I'm 33 and I can't relate to emoji overuse or snapchat filters either (having a low-key meltdown thinking about what would accurately represent media for me). I like New Media for the show, just not for myself. And I loved how even Technical Boy, who is literally a snotty teenager, looked like "I'm too old for this shit".

Another thought. Sam Black Crow. God or not? I may be wrong but for now I do believe she was simply human. She was perhaps supposed to be a callback to Shadow early on, when he didn't believe in anything. And now Shadow is the one spouting all this crazy stuff about gods and faith, and she's the one who was like "yeah, whatever". I really liked her, hope we see her again.

ya know, some people think cilantro tastes like soap. anyone around here one of those people?
Yep, me. Cilantro is not really easy to come by where I live and never had it until I was like 25 or so. Everyone was raving about it and I couldn't wait to try it. And then, soap. What a letdown. (Just to clarify I'm let down by my stupid genetics and not cilantro lol)

@djcaudle01 Salim is so adorable he should be called Puppy instead of Shadow.
  • The Many Saints of Newark (The Sopranos prequel)

There's been a number of casting news popping up recently so thought I'd bump this thread. Just read that James Gandolfini's son (who plays Bobby's son on The Deuce) will play young Tony Soprano. The looks are there for sure, one can only hope the acting will hold up as well!
Other cast members include Jon Bernthal, Vera Farmiga and Corey Stoll.
Alan Taylor will be directing, he also did a bunch of original Sopranos episodes.

The more I hear about it, the more stoked I am. And since it's been in the works for years, I hope it will be honed to perfection.
  • A.ron

Wait, his actual name is Aaron? I could've sworn that a long time ago he said his name was Aron because it's spelled "the German way". I totally bought that. Did I dream this? Was he trolling? Am I going crazy?!
