  • MAggie and Negan SPINOFF??!!!

Maggie pursues Negan and he flees to Manhattan?  I guess.

Or Maggie has some quest and comes across Negan while on the island?  OK.

Part of me wants AMC to lean into the romance angle, really get squicky with kissing and cuddling and sex scenes, just for it to be a long con by Maggie before she bashes Negan’s genitalia to paste.

Peacemaker, despite some nits, was an enjoyable watch and I look forward to season 2.  The official podcast was over produced but has some good interviews.  The Ringer-Verse coverage is a bit better in terms of the hosts talking about the show.

Watching Suspicion as it comes out one episode a week reaffirms my theory that binging makes weaker shows seem better.  This show would benefit from watching it all at once (or 2-3 episodes a day) instead of having time to pick each episode apart.

  • Last Movie You Saw & What Did you Think

^ Chungking Express is why the West knows about WKW, imo.  It's certainly his most accessible film and arguably his best overall.  He later tried to recapture the magic of it in Fallen Angels and only partially succeeded.  Ashes of Time [Redux] is also worth watching. I personally don't care for Happy Together and Blueberry Nights, YMMV.

@lengmo, speaking of 70s British cops, have you ever seen Red Riding? It’s a three part series but each episode is listed on IMDB as a movie - Red Riding: In The Year Of Our Lord 1974, 1980 and 1983.
I have.  My recollection is I liked the '74 one quite a bit but not the others.  However, it's been years.  "To the North: Where We Do What We Want"

I found Nicola Walker has a new miniseries out, Annika, and ordered the DVD.  Will probably be disappointing but hope springs eternal.

@Dee I hesitate to clutter the board with topics that will only have a few posts.  The (obvious) terrorist’s journey from the plane to Britain had me rolling my eyes.  Would a woman really hand over her child to a stranger on a plane?  How convenient the terrorist knows an unhappy wealthy woman with a small yacht who likes being tied up.

I’m enjoying Life on Mars’ over the top recreation of 70’s policing with the characters careening around the streets in British Fords, wearing awful clothes, hurling suspects around during interrogations, etc.
